We are, in fact, back on our bullshit. We must’ve been here a hundred Fridays at least. Tommy’s Skyline to the Sea was back on tap, it’s done really well! Different from the usual Barebottle Brew Co beers.
Skyline to the Haze is a hazy IPA with 7% ABV, named after the iconic Skyline to the Sea trail. Surf Detective is also delicious.A flight of beers outside under a still and hazy sky at Barebottle Brew Co. in Santa Clara, California.

Sunrise was 7 a.m. over Black Mountain west of Cupertino this morning
High clouds are pink and orange, reflecting the sunset just over the horizon behind us. A pale purple band just over the horizon is the “Belt of Venus,” which is the shadow of the earth cast against the sky by the rising sun. The golden and olive hills are furred with a marine layer extending out over the Pacific Ocean.

Google in their quest to jam Gemini into everything now prompts users to ask for a summary of any video. The previous “summaries” were so deliberately vague as to be useless. But, mixed feelings: the goose is being stepped on.

It is unclear to me why a physically out-of-print book should command such a premium price in ebook form.
It costs $70 to license a DRM copy of Japanese Women Writers. I guess the publisher wants them to remain obscure?

15 years ago I worked on-site on a contract for Apple, but not at Infinite Loop, but an anonymous building in Monta Vista off Bubb. Came back to see if I could re-create a photo I’d taken outside after calling home one evening.
Photo taken with an iPhone 3GS around 6:15 pm looking at the sun setting behind an angular building. A large stone pine is silhouetted against the pale sky.Same photo taken with iPhone 17 Pro. The composition isn’t 100% but the dynamic range sure is better.

Took me a minute to find my copy of Neuromancer. How many of these have you read?
The cracked, beaten spine of William Gibson’s first novel Nueromancer in the Ace Special paperback (2nd printing) peers from a row of other paperback fantasy and science fiction novels and short story collections, mostly Del Rey “The Best of” along with some Fritz Leiber, Stanislaw Lem, all kinds of stuff a kid would find in a Doubleday bookstore at the mall in 1986 or so.

“Well, where *I* live, we get money for nothing and our chicks for free,”
A private developer is proposing a high-speed airport rail system that will cost Chicago riders a lot of money. A kind stranger responds to this proposal with, "The equivalent train journey from the airport in Seattle is $6. I believe it's only $1 if you're over 65.” Which may be true, but isn’t very helpful to people in Chicago.
