A society that doesn't support music education, at all levels, is a society with a massive cultural hole in it. Starmer, a former music scholar at Guildhall School of Music, has to do more than offer platitudes. He has to allocate resources, ring-fund them within schools, colleges & universities.

In political terms, and combatting the rise of far right, a huge issue would have been if today's far right rally in London had been peaceful. They just can't help themselves though. Already attacking police, and violence liable to escalate. There's nothing "legitimate" about their "concerns".

Landscape-scale vandalism, rebranded as "preservation". The natural vegetation type on much of Dartmoor is temperate rainforest. But when it starts to regenerate, it gets burnt off for sheep pasture, creating the bleak, treeless wastes that dominate the park. Then they spin it as something good.
