i think less cool and moreso slick and marketable. imo kaneko managed to maintain cool all the way up to strange journey but the SMT 32-bit remakes in particular feel like they were redone to adhere to a specific template

I probably should've shown more examples but there are many of these all created in very quick succession in 2026 alone, all with AI art, all with npc dialogue in a summary table. Often different authors/accounts, always identical format

Theres a bit of Hagio or Ikeda influence in the early design, it's like a cyberpunk shojo

Yeah I'm more speaking to the high number of quotes saying "cant believe the ai overlords canceled his game because the sweet boi refused to use ai", that's leaping from A to X

OK CrashKeys is real company registered in 2025 so this likely isn't an ARG; I rescind my doubt. Still cant make assumptions on what AI had to do with the project being cancelled

I cant imagine they actually believe this, but naturally the middle class white American will sooner ponder robot liberation than modern slavery

On the other hand if this is a stylistic flourish to try and find investors or crowdfunding for a project otherwis3 in jeopardy, then I can't fault him at all for sticking to his brand

The name crashkeys, the website full of cyphers and Easter eggs, the fact that he's not coming right out and telling his infamously obsessive fanbase that it's not an ARG, especially after the multiple big ones surrounding somnium files. But I really don't know one way or another!

Really, what is going on here? People are making a lot of assumptions on who's dictating what, but it's really impossible to determine what Uchikoshi is talking about. If this is an ARG for ZE4 (possible!) that's bad taste and I kinda hope it isn't!

TokiMemo 2's a phenomenally lavish PlayStation experience - above and beyond pretty much anything else - while also being an acutely observant dating sim that works hard to push the genre (and its players) forward. Some great writing in this one: kimimithegameeatingshemonster.com/2022/04/04/k...

Good luck guessing what Chew Man Fu is about from the name or box art. It's worth diving in despite not being given any hints from there, though, as it's a maze game with plenty of levels and strategy that keeps finding its way back to the present after its original 1990 release on the Turbografx-16

retroxp.beehiiv.com

It's new to me: Chew Man Fu

Now Production's first effort on the Turbografx-16 was a game where the name told you absolutely nothing about what you're about to experience.

A lot of this happening on public transport lately, i observed a middle aged woman next to me watch an endless ai slop drama about a cat in sunglasses trying to impress a sexy lady cat, only to get viciously beaten to death by cat police and roll up to heaven in a wheelchair
