It's my folks 63rd Anniversary. They came home from a drive, mom said she wants a divorce, doesn't know why. She has vascular dementia and gawd bless my dad he has the patience of a saint. He however, looked like death so we checked his sugar & it was 54! 😲 He forgot to eat trying to keep her happy.

Lawd give me strength. My 81 y/o vascular dementia mama has very poor balance & couch surfs or chair surfs to ambulate. She has been instructed on the walker and of course does not remember the instruction number one and number two she does not want to use it. She is convinced she does not need it.

Okay Blue Sky, I have a question for you. When you make a grilled cheese sandwich, obviously you put the cheese between the bread, but, do you butter both sides of each slice of bread or just one side of the bread? I contend the more butter the better. My friend says I'm wasteful!

I got a $20,000 bill for less than 6 hours in an emergency room and nobody bats an eye. 🤷🏻‍♀️ It is an utter waste of funds and resources to charge $20,000 for 6 hours. This is part of what is broken. And now we're using AI to bill even more. This is so wrong.

After roughly 10 hours of work, phone work and in person work at an agency to help us, I finally got my mother and father switched back from an advantage plan to regular Medicare with a part d for medications and a supplemental. What a nightmare. What are senior citizens alone without help to do?

Dementia update: No long-term care insurance. Medicare does not pay for memory care. They make way too much money for Medi-cal. And so when I ask what are we supposed to do for placement they basically said good luck. She told me the whole system is broken. No shit.

Back in May I was in the emergency room and I went via ambulance for passing out and having a possible seizure. I got the bill... I was there for 6 hours. The ambulance ride was approximately 12 miles. $8,438. They ran labs and such in the hospital for 6 hours $11,292. So $19,730 for 6 hours. WRONG!

One of my favorite patients that I've been caring for, for four years passed away. He was a crotchety cantankerous old ornery man and I loved him. His wife is now alone after being with him for 70 years. She's pretty healthy but usually the other one doesn't last too long after. 😭
