The previous mixed media thing I made got me inspired and I decided to make another similar painting. Probably won't make a third one anytime soon, but who knows

Aurinkoinen - (watercolor, gouache, color pencils) #mixedmedia #watercolor #maalaus

A colorful autumn forest landscape. It's almost as if it's sunny, but in the place of the sun is a pale greyish iris that stares at something in the distance. The cliffs and hills of the forest are surrounded by fog.

The base painting layer of the piece without any color pencil details drawn in yet. The signature has been edited in.

Got inspired by Ulla Thynell's process of using paint/inks with lots of water and then drawing on top of it once it's dry. So I made a landscape with watercolors and color pencils. #painting #drawing #mixedmedia

A very colorful, dreamlike forest landscape. The base layer of the painting is just blobs of various colours blending into eachother. Some details, like leaves, branches and tree trunks have been drawn on top. The sky is brightly lit by a warm orange moon.

The base layer of the painting without the drawn details. The signature has been edited in.

Happy midsummer! Here's ink brush drawings from a few months back #inkdrawing #sketch #luonnos #piirustus

A lady with a long and narrow face and curly hair. She's wearing large triangular earrings and a dress. She looks a bit like Chappell Roan due to her eyeshadow and long lashes, but the resemblance is unintentional.

I don't usually read horror, but I liked Crypt of the Moon Spider so I made a little drawing about it. #art #digitaldrawing #sketch

A simplified, stylized drawing of a brain with some adjacent parts of the human nervous system. The eyes shine white and bright red crosses are drawn in many spots across the brain. Spiders spin web around the center of the brain, where there are small glowing eggs. Behind the brain is a dark landscape of space, stars and strange trees full of spider web. There is a vague spider-like silhouette among the trees.

Kotimatka / Journey home Oil pastels on paper (+ paint marker for the moon) one of my older drawings #oilpastels #drawing #piirustus

The dark silhouette of a landscape is visible against a vibrant, colorful night sky. The sun has just set, but the reds and yellows of the sunset are still in the sky. A crescent moon has risen just barely above the horizon. In the landscape are the vague outlines of distant hills, a house and a spruce tree.

Mäntyjä | Baltic pine trees #digitalart #maalaus #mänty #painting

A stylized digital painting of the tops of three baltic pine trees against an evening sky. There is a crescent moon above them. Some diagonal wavy lines and swirls are also coming from above, a little bit like the last rays of the sun or a warm wind.

Osuvaa tekstiä Hosseinilta! Tuota populaarifeminististä retorista tyyliä näkee suhteellisen paljon, mutta se alkaa olla jo aika kulunutta.

Metsänpeitto, an older painting from 2023. I put a lot of effort into the details on this one. #digitalpainting #digitaldrawing #folklore #maalaus

A digital painting of a surreal mountain-shaped forest with twisting and crossing paths. They originate from a bright green glow in the roots of spruce at the top. There are three figures traversing the paths: One is a woman sitting and looking down in a blue cape, apron and simple brown dress. The other is a green figure with branches sprouting from its head, walking upwards. The third is wearing more modern, simple clothing and walking downwards in shadow. In the spaces between paths there are all sorts of strange things and creatures. Some colorful eyes peek from the darkness. There is a decorative turqoise and gold frame around the picture with stars and some plant-like patterns.

I got the idea for a prehistoric horse from the drawing I reposted just now. It's neat how seeing other people's art can just push you in an entirely new direction with your own drawings.

(deleted and reposted this because some leftover sketch lines on the horse started bothering me and I wanted to erase them) Some sketches of Haleth that I made to figure out what she looked like in my mind + a horse that she now has in a headcanon of mine #silmarillionart

Some simple digital sketches of Haleth from the Silmarillion. There's a portrait drawing and a few sketches of her outfit and its details. She is a young woman with redish brown hair and pale skin. Haleth is wearing a european iron age -style fantasy outfit.
There is also a drawing of a brown horse with a dark upright mane that resembles Przewalski's horses and the Lascaux cave paintings of horses. It has some faint blurry stripes on its neck and legs.

bsky.app/profile/jack... It was specifically this painting that got me down the rabbit hole of ancient horses and cave paintings! thanks @jackthevulture.bsky.social

I thought that since everything that happened in Beleriand is considered far-away, ancient history by the time of LOTR, iron age clothing would be fitting at least for the humans. The elves had been around for much longer though, so their clothes are more medieval in my drawings.

Her outfit was heavily inspired Finnish iron age and Hallstatt culture clothing. Her heraldic device that Tolkien drew was also an inspiration, especially for the jewellery and colour scheme.

A silmaril At first I tried to make the silmaril design more colorful and more "realistic" but then I realized that simpler is better in this case. Couldn't decide on which background color was better, so I included both. #silmarillion #tolkien #silmarillionart #digitaldrawing

A stylized digital drawing of a silmaril. It is a round blueish gemstone that shines with gold and silver light. There are faint decorative line drawings all around the gem. The ones above it are like swirling clouds and wind. The line drawings in the center are like waves in an ocean. The lines below the gem resemble rock. The background is dark blue.

The same drawing as the previous picture, except that the background is black.

Saimaa ringed seal I posted an earlier version of this drawing some time ago but I deleted it the next day because I saw that it was quite bad. I usually never post art immediately after finishing it and now I remember why. Anyway here's the better version of the painting #digitalart #saimaannorppa

A digital painting in which a saimaa ringed seal is lounging on a smooth rock in a lake. It is cloudy and windy, and the lake water is crashing against the rock in small waves. Nonetheless, the seal looks happy and has its eyes closed.

I knew I had to draw Rosalina with this outfit as soon as I saw it in Mario kart world #digitalart #mariokartworld #rosalina #drawing

A fairly quick digital drawing of Rosalina in her dark blue and turqoise aurora dress that has little stars across it. She has pale skin and blond hair, which is decorated with small cyan-colored gems. She wears a small silver crown. Rosalina is floating in the air with her wand in her hands and is looking to the right, her hair covering her eye. The background is a dark purple color with simple redish stars drawn across it.

I took some inspiration from millefleurs tapestries and Tolkien's tiny drawing of Beleg in the landscape of Taur na Fuin.

Nummenjuuri @nummenjuuri.bsky.social · 09/06/2025

I used watercolors and color pencils to make this. The white highlights were made with a paint marker. #maalaus #painting #mixedmediaart #landscapepainting #watercolor

A landscape painting made with watercolors and color pencils. It is a late summer evening. There is a young woman with pale skin and wavy brown hair, leaning against the wooden railing of a watch tower of some sort. She's wearing a white shirt with a red sleeveless tunic on top. There are spruce trees around the tower and farther in the landscape is a mountain range. There is a large billowing cloud coming out of the side of the highest mountain, which the woman is looking at with binoculars.

If the lines look a bit stiff when compared to my other digital paintings, it's just because I painted this one entirely using a mouse. It was more fun than I thought it would be, but it did take some more patience and conscious precision when compared to drawing with a tablet and pen.

Nurja puoli ja kuva ryijystä keskeneräisenä. The backside and a picture of the weaving process.

Ryijyn nurja puoli, jolta voi erottaa saman kuvion kuin oikealtakin, mutta vähän epäselvemmin. Nukkarivit ja niiden väliin kudotut kaistaleet näkyvät selvästi.
