Got inspired by Ulla Thynell's process of using paint/inks with lots of water and then drawing on top of it once it's dry. So I made a landscape with watercolors and color pencils. #painting #drawing #mixedmedia

A very colorful, dreamlike forest landscape. The base layer of the painting is just blobs of various colours blending into eachother. Some details, like leaves, branches and tree trunks have been drawn on top. The sky is brightly lit by a warm orange moon.

Some simple digital sketches of Haleth from the Silmarillion. There's a portrait drawing and a few sketches of her outfit and its details. She is a young woman with redish brown hair and pale skin. Haleth is wearing a european iron age -style fantasy outfit.
There is also a drawing of a brown horse with a dark upright mane that resembles Przewalski's horses and the Lascaux cave paintings of horses. It has some faint blurry stripes on its neck and legs.

Saimaa ringed seal I posted an earlier version of this drawing some time ago but I deleted it the next day because I saw that it was quite bad. I usually never post art immediately after finishing it and now I remember why. Anyway here's the better version of the painting #digitalart #saimaannorppa

I finally managed to finish some new art for a change. Here's Melian. #silmarillion #tolkien #fantasyart

The digital portrait painting depicts Melian like she was as the queen of Doriath. She is in the form of an elf and is looking to the side. Melian has copper brown skin, short wavy black hair with a few gray hairs here and there. There are small twinkling stars on her face, like freckles. Her diadem is shaped like a wreath around her head and a decorative metallic star hangs from it next to her ear. Her robe is a deep ultramarine blue with golden branches and stars embroidered on it. The collar of the robe is dark brown with black embroidered plants. A nightingale is sitting on Melian's shoulder.

The background is painted with rake brushes in shades of brown, beige and deep blue. There are two concentric circles surrounding Melian's head like a halo. Stars similar to the ones embroidered on her clothes appear around her in the background.

There are two quick sketches of probably a bit anatomically inaccurate skeletons drawn with white on a black background. The skeleton on the left has lost its skull, which lies on the ground right next to it. The skeleton is standing with its arms spread in surprise, and there are exclamation marks drawn right next to where its head would be.

The other skeleton is holding its hand up to its mouth, and it has as much of a happy expression as a skeleton can have. It being offered a small flower by another skeleton, which is out of frame. Only its hand offering the flower is visible.
