Found this chunky goober who is about to become a cool big sawfly. The Dutch common name for these suggests that they are wasps, but I’m not sure they are. #insects #hymenoptera #naturephotography

Sawfly larva, it is very round and chunky and green and has dots. It has tiny legs and seems to be eating some dandelion leaf or similar.

Description: highly calcified, somewhat bean-shaped sporocarps with barely present stalks. When stalks were present, they seemed dark in colour. Spore mass is black. Found on moss on a fallen tree in forest. Sitting on top of the tree, not dangling as Badhamia utricularis tends to do.

Some Dutch beaches have these cool beach wheelchairs with super fat wheels, free to use for whoever needs them.

It’s apple season, and I’ve noticed lots of people in Estonia have apple trees in their garden. Many houses, shops and restaurants had baskets of apples out for people to take, because they harvested more than they could eat. It looked cute.

The danger shrooms get their own mushroom prison. There are parents taking their toddlers to learn about mushrooms, and these are too dangerous to have lying around. Death cap (Amanita phalloides) and Destroying angel (Amanita virosa). #fungifriends
