My plant grow simulation finally comes together! Working on this on the side for my garden simulation game. Actually ingame this is not supposed to grow in realtime, but it could! #screenshotsaturday #madewithunity #indiedev #techart

I am now trying to untangle this URP grass shader into reusable sub-graphs. Wish me luck. This is a shader for my grass mowing system. Regrow, flatten, cutting, flow in wind. All in one shader. #unity3d #urp #shader #techart #madewithunity

Quick shader test of our algae farming building. I want it to be more detailed and try to get more depth into the tanks, but for now it should be enough. Does not look like a liquid mass yet. #citypunk #indiedev #gamedev #unity #shader #techart

WIP of the Cyberpunk Vertical City Building Game. We made some early blockouts and are unsure where we should go, fill out as much space as possible or leave some room? Of course various infrastructure elements will be generated inbetween blocks. #gamedev #indiedev #unity #gameart #3dart

Russian propaganda on Steam! 💙💛 You can help with reporting. They frame this as true information but praise the russian army as heroes and soldiers of piece, using phrases like "brilliant Russian airborne assault" of an ongoing warcrime. #StandWithUkraine #steam #gamedev egw.news/gaming/news/...

Do you remember the "Make MMO" button that we joked about in game engine communities? I wonder how long it will take to be a reality with agentic AI. I don't mind how good or bad it might be, but the fact that it will finally exist produces mixed feelings. #gamedev #AI #indiedev #unity #unreal

Some devs still use simple text editors and no propper IDEs and I think that is a mistake. Even the basic autofill suggestions can safe you 30mins per day just by completing lines like these. Testing and debugging becomes so much more productive. #visualstudio #vscode #programming #gamedev #ide

🔗 steamcalculator.nubosoft.de I made a Steam Revenue Calculator and wrote an Article since most calculators are worthless and intransparent. E.g. you can calculate your break even sales numbers and see if they are realistic to achieve. #gamedev #indiedev #gamebusiness #steam #taxes

Are outlines even nice? I mean, everyone wants these Outline shaders but it's very hard to find actual games using outline shaders. And if they do, they are rather subtle. Just experimenting with styles and techniques. #unity #gamedev #indiedev #3d #artstyle #screenshot

Nothing spikes user frustration faster than a UI that won’t let them click. Even a barely visible shadow can ruin everything. Fix: Put the shadow or background graphic on a separate layer that doesn’t block pointer events. #design #ui #qualityassurance #indiedev #gamedev #2D #unity

Interesting article and topic. I also wonder why VSync isn't always a standard. Often I hear my GPU screaming in main menues of some games where it probably reaches 500FPS 😐 Basic graphics knowledge (or the motivation to adjust it properly) is often limited nowadays.

Guess which products you ship in this logistics simulator! I recently added 3000 Cities of the world and they influence various aspects. Reddish tinted areas are suitable for production with fertile lands and within your control. #screenshotsaturday #wip #gamedev #indiedev

#rant What's going on in #gamedevbusiness? Are there any actual people who believe that Day-1 DLCs combined with a season pass for the price of another full game is a decent idea? There are quality #simracing games with more content than PMR at a lower price. Some devs need a reality check.

Nearly a year ago I prototyped a grass shader. Now the grass reacts to mowing, footsteps, and object pressure. Basically there’s just a simple brush system behind it and a lot of shader nodes. Maybe it becomes a cozy garden-sim someday… #indiedev #GameDev #Shaders #SoloDev #Unity
