#kompyart Nouva, the anthro Gryphon companion to the Mock Turtle. Drawn back in 2016 for the same OCtober challenge.

Original OCtober artwork from 2016 starring Nouva the gryphon (more on her lore can be found in the Afuuro pic I'm quoting).

She's an anthro Gryphon with white fluff and feathers and brown stripes, suggesting she's half-tiger as opposed to half-lion. She has a mohawk and shades. Her claws (birdlike, painted pink) are held up in a threatening way, imitating the splash art from Dance Dance Revolution level she and her partner are named after (Afro Nova by RE-VENGE).

#kompyart Last time I drew this guy was in 2003 and the only surviving evidence is literally this one tiny icon. Also, Pipe Dreams was initially named Creed...but honestly I've always been attached to the name Pipe Dreams more, even if at the time I figured it didn't work as a Stand name. So silly!

SUPER lo-res icon of Stevie the hamster with a...cartoon kitty-faced whatever in the back that is supposed to have been Creed. I'm...very glad I went with a headless look for the re-design.

(Note this is technically day seven but Life Happened, please ignore)

Day Five: Stevie is a hamster, literally just a normal-size (if chonky) Syrian hamster...emerging from a hamster tube that's actually the "arm" of a technicolor assortment of hamster tubes forming a headless, humanoid shape, aka Pipe Dreams.

...if the naming scheme and inking-style isn't enough of an indicator, these two started life as fan-characters based on Araki's Jojo's Bizarre Adventure series. To put it in proper fandom terms, Stevie is a Stand user with Pipe Dreams being an Artificial Humanoid-style Stand that Stevie can control by running around inside its tube-body and guide where said tubes come and go.

#kompyart #Kompy_OCtober Day 4: Nola and Akbar Species: Human and Giant Rhinoceros Beetle, respectively

Day Four: Nola Batra the farmgirl and her trusty partner Akbar, an old rhino beetle the size of an actual rhino. Originally started life as a Monster Rancher OC, with Akbar being a Beaclon, which is....also a giant rhino beetle, so there wasn't much to alter to make him a copyright-free OC, really.

Seen here are the version of the two that I used in a Ryuutama RPG campaign, a spunky blond lass with messy hair done in a ponytail, loose suspenders over a cream shirt and a rake strapped to her back as her weapon of choice. She usually wears a sunhat with a pair of girly sunglasses (aquired in-game), which you can see Nola holding in the pic. She's riding on Akbar's back. Akbar the beetle is mostly red and brown in color and carrying several bags and barrels that have been strapped on him, as he's in charge of carrying Nola and her party's supplies during their journey.

The result of my OCtober (which is just me revamping an assortment of old OCs) from 2016. To be re-posted individually on Bluesky with alt text at a later date.

Day One: Shaun Bannet, human. A young man with long hair tied in a loose ponytail, he's seen walking through an (abstract) desert with a hard look on his face.

A former roleplay character of mine in a mecha-themed game, whose machine of choice was a living weapon, a robot bird by the name Phoenixora; she's represented as his metaphorical shadow, as she sacrificed herself to save him at one point in the game. She eventually came back with a new form, but as this is a much older Shaun than the one I played back then, let's assume this is a melancholical epilogue where they have parted ways for reasons only they'd know.

#kompyarts #traditional I got some wood chips and a need to test my skills using these acrylic markers I got on hand. These are just practice, really, though fun.

Middle: A bust of Kompy, my compsognathus OC and main mascot/fursona. She's green with a yellow stripe on her eye and yellow feathers on her head stylized like spiked bangs.

If by "new" you mean "since around 2012-2013 as a personal milestone mark (in this case graduating college), then yes. Kompy has gotten... A few pics with the new feather 'do since then. More info in the alt text for each image.

Earliest version of Kompy's character sheet /w the yellow feathers. Mostly still accurate to the current one, save for the belly coloring no longer a thing and the head-feathers getting a new shape (though really, just treat the feathers like hair if you want because she's a cartoon and I'm no paleoartist, sad as I am to admit it).

A proper art piece with Kompy with the (earlier) feather design, drawn to match an earlier version of the character drawn in the mid-late 90s.

Again, it still works as a ref except for the light green belly. It's fine for more detailed illustrations, but not really worth remembering to add, if that makes sense?

An older icon including Kompy and CeeGee, aka her Pokémon equivalent (an anthropomorphic Porygon with a bandanna and the same glasses as Kompy).

This is.... From a certain time long ago...

One of my newer icons (from last year) with Kompy drawn up in my typical cartoon style (as opposed to the character sheet showing two artistic extremes, quasi-realistic to chibi.

Simplified bangs, the single anime "idiot hair" plume and a general look for the brown bits on the tip of her head-feathers.

Character reference for my original character/personal mascot/fursona/etc, Kompy the Compsognathus. She has green scales with bright yellow feathers with brown details over her head, back, tail and on her lower arms and legs. She wears tiny round glasses perched onher snout. She has a single horizontal stripe on her right eye. The feathers on her head form long bangs that droop over her face, save for one that curves over her head in a classic anime-like "ahoge". Her catchphrase is 'raar'.

A (very rough) notebook sketch of my take on "Panthalus" from Palworld. Rather than interpreting him as just a cartoon orca like another legendary water monster does, I redesigned the head to resemble that of a _Balaena mysticetus_, aka a Bowhead whale. As the head shape is my biggest personal beef with the design, the rest of the sketch isn't as refined or matching the original, though does at least keep the idea of the gold floating armor and the stripes, if maybe not as accurately as before due to this sketch being powered by spite and spite alone.

The fat bird meme related to this Pal gets a reference, but mostly because I think it's funny. Spite with a hint of whimsy.

Concept doodles for Lando Memphis, the personified vaporwave... Fella. Still has a statue bust for a head, long sleeved Hawaiian shirt for a body and the lower half for legs. In addition, he has no hands; instead the sleeves stay empty or are replaced with random items that suit the theme, such as palm trees or dolphin heads. The flamingo lower half can sometimes be replaced by a whole dolphin, most likely to jump or swim with.

Also there's a toaster cat in this. Lando had to wave his 🌴 at something!

Digital monochrome sketch of a bipedal creature with massive jaws, birdlike legs and short arms that dangle uselessly from its chest. It's bent forward and lifting a leg as if about to pounce on something offscreen.

It has several uneven spines on its back...and is covered in what look like torn spiderwebs. There are tiny black spiders crawling on it, the largest riding on the creature's open maw. Small details on the legs loosely suggest that the claws are segmented like spider legs and is, in fact. an amalgamation of spiders fused together to form the otherwise reptilian-like creature.
