On Monday, the DOT announced their decision to rollback federal fuel economy standards for cars and trucks. Earlier this year, NRPE submitted thousands of comments on behalf of faith leaders and faith-based organizations urging the Administration to not follow through on this rule. #CleanerCars

Last week, the public comment period closed on the EPA proposed rule to weaken the greenhouse gas emission standards for heavy duty cars and trucks. The faith community responded with over 12,000 comments from leaders within the Black Church urging the EPA to abandon the rule.

Good news! Affordable environmental stewardship options already exist for oil & gas operators to be good stewards of creation by finding & fixing methane leaks. However, some of the worst methane emitters are lobbying EPA to loosen the rules that require them to use these tools that #CutMethane.

Earlier this week, the Trump Administration reduced the size of two national monuments in Utah by 90%, without consulting local Indigenous tribes who have sacred sites located within the public lands. This move stands directly against our calling to steward God's creation and protect sacred places.
