This is unfair of me bc they're both VERY different films, but man, I saw Leviticus when it came out and for like half of Miasma I just remember thinking how much I wanted to watch that movie again instead 🥲

Pretty sure I know which movie you mean, and I also was disappointed by how much it just didn't hit for me :( I really wanted to like it but IDK it just felt kinda pretentious to me?

Going through another round of edits, and tbh this next chapter is getting too long to comfortably read in one sitting (currently sitting at 32k, likely gonna be adding a good chunk more). contemplating just posting 2 chapters at once once I'm done, idk...

back when I was drawing and painting regularly, the pieces I was most happy with could take anywhere from 3 days to a month to finish. Sometimes it's good to rest your brain/eyes and view it with a fresh perspective later (like how spelling mistakes are easier to catch after writing breaks)

For those interested, here's a very small peek at chapter 9 of The Long Night

The shadow above him takes a step forward into the moonlight, and at last, Steve's heart soars in relief as he recognizes its features.
Billy, he tries to speak, only for a soft whine to slip out instead; apparently his voice is just as heavy as the rest of him. Despite the weight of his arms, he tries to reach out but only manages to twitch his fingers. Though dark shadows obscure most of Billy's form, what the moon reveals fills Steve with both relief and awe. His face, his lips, his eyes, even the thin scar splitting his right eyebrow almost in half, it's Billy.
He stands above Steve's feet, looking down at him and meeting his gaze with burning blue eyes that can only be described as hungry. He doesn't say a word, yet when he steps forward again, the dark shapes lurking all around them slowly begin to recede into the corners and cracks of Steve's vision. Billy looms over him, over everything, far taller and broader than Steve remembers him being. Two long, black, jagged branches protrude from his head, curving up toward the sky.
Through the fog in his mind, Steve wonders if Billy has always had antlers or not. Then he sees other fragments of bone interwoven with roots, branches, and all the other little scraps of material strung together across his skull. King of the Night. Billy wears the crown well. But where had he found it? Were they back at camp? Or had he stolen it from someone else?
Thoughts of the others, of their whistles and leers as they surround and grab at him makes Steve feel nauseous. His eyes dart around, frantically searching for signs of them, but all he sees are dark trees and the endless depth of the sky above him. There's no one else around but him and Billy. There can't be. But if they're both alone, why does he still feel eyes on him?
Another weak groan escapes his lips. It's embarrassing, but Billy doesn't laugh at him. Instead, he slowly lowers himself down to one knee and leans over Steve's tired, aching body.
Strange. He's naked too.

I can finally post my @harringrovezine.bsky.social piece🔥 I had such a blast doing an angst drawing for the zine. If I suffer with this ship, you all suffer with me. #harringrove #steveharrington #billyhargrove #harringrovezine #kingsofnowherezine

If it's any consolation, ch10 should be out a lot faster bc it's pretty much just gonna be a smut chapter 👍

Good news for readers, bad news for me is that it's another 30k update (whyyyyy)

The good news is that structurally, I think the new TLN chapter is finally solid and should hopefully be out within the next couple weeks. The bad news is that the big 3some scene had to get pushed to chapter 10 😔
