Willing to call #FestiveTankChallenge2025 a success! A platoon of 5 Shermans complete for Flames of War in the colors of Saunders University High School from Girls Und Panzer. With magnitized turrets I can run them as 75 or 76mm variants. #FestiveTankChallenge #GirlsUndPanzer

Gonna be cutting it close as we come down to the wire for #FestiveTankChallenge2025. Somehow had the smoothest decal application I’ve ever had in my entire life. Just a wash, drybrush and some weathering left. #FestiveTankChallenge

A Beautiful Christmas Eve here in the DMV saw temperatures in the high 50s-low 60s with little humidity. A perfect day to put the basecoat on the Sherman’s for #FestiveTankChallenge2025! Off day tomorrow for Christmas and then to work painting on Boxing Day. #FestiveTankChallenge

#FestiveTankChallenge update: Assembly complete. Turrets are fully magnetized. I’m planning to make them 75mms but I’ve also got 5 76mm turrets magnetized and ready to go if I feel really ambitious. Trying to figure out how to prime them since it might be chilly tomorrow.

Harriet Tubman #quilt by my Mom, Vera P. Hall, who makes quilts celebrating Black people who fought for their own freedom. This seems to be the crowd favorite of the “We Didn’t Wait for Freedom” series. Happy #Juneteenth #quilting

Colorful quilt of a nighttime scene with Harriet Tubman in an orange jacket and purple dress carrying a rifle. She is leading other figures who walk behind her.

Just finished “You, Me, and Ulysses S Grant” by @bradneely.bsky.social and I feel as an official, professional, bonafide historian: Neely makes Ron Chernow look like a simpering infant. What took the old man a doorstopping 1,104 pages took Neely only 290. A truly engaging read.

My wife and I are having an argument over the use of infantry in the universe of @rebeccayarros.bsky.social “Fourth Wing” series. Personally I think if they wanted to kill off the children of the apostasy they should be used as shock infantry. She seems to think they are just glorified boy scouts.
