After 6 months of fighting and waiting, roofers are here and repairing and patching our roof. We will have to continue to save for a full roof replacement but I can't tell ya'll how happy we are to finally reach this point since Helene.

I’m close to caving too. Libby wait is MONTHS. So I’m listening to Ebony Gate and hoping the pain resides so I can return to Oathbound lol

It's Emberclaw's release day in the US! Signal boosting always appreciated. Weird, queer dragons. Magic trials, arcane university, yearning, a wyvern race, fate and hope. Grab it from your favorite place books are sold. ✨️

I started my Legendborn re-read later than planned today but I also pre-ordered Oathbound from Barnes and Noble so I have time. But now all I want to do is read but I have dumb adult responsibilities.

Oof yeah it’s dangerous. Looking back at the random people I would talk to on the internet there was no way knowing who they really were. 🙃

Same dude. My parents had no idea what I saw and did on the internet.

Her phone is only for maybe some games and to be able to communicate with me when she’s not with me. We track her location as well. The internet is not for children and computer literacy has declined. Please, teach your kids Internet safety.

The Dragon Queen @novelkc.bsky.social · 03/03/2025

Imma need yall to pay more attention to what your kids are watching on the internet. A child my daughter’s age randomly tried to walk up and show us a “weird video” and we immediately said no thank you. My 10 year old has a phone but is not allowed social media and we monitor YouTube use.

We should be doing this every day. Necessities only. If you have a want, try to barter, thrift or possibly a buy nothing group. Community is how we fight back.

Reading for joy has been difficult so I’ve been reading mostly nonfiction. Educating yourself is a form of resistance. Currently reading: 🎧 Tupac Shakur: The Authorized Biography 📚 Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook by Mark Bray, and The Giver by Lois Lowry (The Giver is for homeschool)

The Dragon Queen @novelkc.bsky.social · 10/02/2025

We're starting our curriculum for The Giver today. So we will be discussing types of government, utopia and dystopia and my 10 year old is going to start a project creating her own "utopia" Curriculum below. www.livingston.org/cms/lib4/NJ0...

I’ve had a dragon story stirring in my brain for months. I’ve written down my “idea” and have the plot semi-started, just not written down. But being creative is TOUGH right now.

The Dragon Queen @novelkc.bsky.social · 05/02/2025

Making content feels futile. There are so many amazing books, especially dragon books that are coming out this year. But I can’t look away from the dumpster fire that is this country.
