Iron Lung x The Thing, two of my favorite horror movies combined into one? Heck yeah! I had this picture in my mind for weeks and finally I had time to create it. I also wanted to work on my inking skills and try some different methods. #ironlung #thething #horrorart #simontheconvict

A digital illustration showing Simon from the movie Iron Lung. He is standing on top of the blood ocean, a big eye can be seen in the sky. Out of Simon's hood shines an uncanny light. His face is not visible. Simon's left arm is mutated.

Detail shot of a digital illustration. Simon's upper body is visible. An uncanny light shines from his hood. The face is not visible.

Ink illustration I created at the last convention. Iron Lung is exactly my kind of horror, I enjoyed the movie tremendously! The original artwork is still available at my next event, but a print version will be available as well. #ironlung #ironlungfanart #horrorart #simontheconvict #darkart

illustration created with black ink, showing a bust of Simon from the movie Iron Lung. He is looking at the camera while the maw of the Eel frames his head, the long teeth partly covering him.

Your spicy dish is ready! I made a "bloody" and "not bloody" version since my wife liked it more without the bloody hands 😅 so you have some variety! #bloodymary #ironlung #nsfwart

#bloodymary Update: we have colors! And I may have fallen into the background trap. Do you want a fully rendered version? Btw do not ask me why they are doing it in the sub. I have no idea.

Finally back in the kitchen with some spicy #bloodymary! I did a lot of anatomy/gesture studies recently and I think it's finally paying off. Hope you enjoy the lineart so far, next up: coloration!

A banner of two masculine characters leaning up against a birch tree. The one on the left is an Indigenous man wearing a vest covered in beadwork, and the one on the right has paler skin and orange hair, wearing a blue shirt with tassels on the chest. Both have soft expressions as they hold hands. Gold decorations frame the corners of the image, and the text "We've Always Been Here" takes over the right side in flowy, mock-gold text. A small note in the corner also reads, "Work in Progress Image."

This is kinda a sloppily written take and I think there are other perspectives on this that are really valid but this has kinda been where I'm at with regards to the policing of dark kink by platforms, sorry for the brick of text. Putting a TW for "sexual violence mention" on this too.

I have absolutely no beef whatsoever with people who prefer wholesome porn but I'm genuinely so sick of the policing that platforms have started on it these past couple years. I've been struggling to put my feelings about this into concise words, so apologies if this is clumsy, but I find it very ironic that this move to eliminate anything that could be perceived as, as they have decided to label it, "sexual violence" in small creator-made works, seems to be more heavily policing content made by the people who tend to be (more frequently but not exclusively) victims of that type of violence. They're shitting on women, NB, trans and LGBT+ people for having kinks that are, as some have theorized, possibly the RESULT of a society that creates this shame and stigma around sex for those people. Decontextualizing this work and trying to reframe it like it's all rape porn is its own kind of violence. We have our own words for it for a reason. Because that's not what it is. But I guess it's all kind of in line with this trend of only being able to view things from your own viewpoint, as if that's objective and true, and never considering things from the perspective of others. I don't want to make this a purely gendered issue because I think there can be nuance to the way cishet men make this content too, it's just this like, extra layer of bullshit. And there will be people who will only ever see this argument as "trying to defend rape porn" and that's the whole damn issue. People don't get to classify my own art for me and if I say it's not, then it's not.

I also wanna be really clear that having limitations on some spaces is entirely fine and enthusiastic consent is cool and I'm not at all saying that space for dark content should exist EVERYWHERE. I'm saying it should exist SOMEWHERE. Devaluing some art because it doesn't meet some ambiguous idea of "artistic integrity" but not other art is censorship and giving only people with money and industry connections control of the way those topics are portrayed. I'd rather read a small creator's authentic and honest take on a topic than a boiled down pre-packaged corporate one.
