Have you read ‘The Whale and the Supercomputer?’ Ot is out of print, but is a great example of how traditional cultures pay attention to local climate changes and extrapolate larger changes in climate. Elders hold a lot of oral history. Some of it is shared with white anthropologists.

The #metoo movement is a reaction to mens’ inability to separate their emotions about other mens’ misbehavior. It is about not only believing women, but actively pursuing rapists, ruining their reputations, wrecking their futures as completely as the rapists’ ruined a woman’s future and reputation.

Plains peoples. There are so many other traditions that are under-represented. In my little part of Alaska, we have 5 peoples who traded and intermarried for generations. Languages and dialects that would make monolinguist Americans’ heads spin. Not every ‘NDN’ wears feathers and rides horses.

Would you be willing to send postcards to voters to encourage them to vote? Make some phone calls? Tell the history you lived through to younger generations? There are so many ways to protest, to ‘just say no to fascism.’ Scaremongering is not helpful. Asking for ideas about resistance is helpful.

Goes back to the French Revolution. Paris’ broad boulevards, lots of cement and asphalt is mainly due to the Revolutionaries’ tendancy to make road blocks out of readily available building materials to foil the monarchists. The French remember their history. The US has never been taught it’s own.
