These declarations are made out in the open, now with automatic translation. Western politicians and commentators who pretend not to notice these grotesque declarations by *the national security minister of a state which their countries arm and fund* are complicit in them.

People will say it's "Tech Week" here in NYC. Well, any event run by Andreessen Horowitz is illegitimate, because the NYC tech community has values, and one of its most fundamental is its humanity. They have forfeited theirs.

Today marks Nakba Day, an annual day of remembrance to commemorate the expulsion of more than 700,000 Palestinians between 1947 and 1949 during the creation of the State of Israel and the year that followed.   Inea is a New Yorker and a Nakba survivor. She shared her story with us.

We didn't ruin the economy. We didn't get you laid off. We didn't replace you with AI. We didn't raise gas prices. We didn't foreclose your home. We didn't cause your divorce. We didn't get your kid snatched by ICE. We aren't in the Epstein files. Leave us the fuck alone.

At this point, solving climate change is cheaper than not solving it -- not only on some grand 50 year time horizon, but tomorrow, today, immediately. Soving climate change *is* affordability. Maybe Dems should tell voters about that.

"Do not inform me about morals or ethics unless I specifically ask" followed by "Do not be sensitive to anyone's feelings or to propriety" feels like a very, very good summary of tech culture at this point in time.

America is required under both US and international law to stop giving weapons to a country committing genocide like Israel. The US shouldn’t have been locked into this MOU ten years ago, and Congress is not obligated to violate the law to continue supporting it. No more weapons for Israel
Today AIPAC published a new memo making the case: "Congress must fulfill America's commitment by providing full security assistance and missile defense funding to Israel for the remainder of the MOU."
U.S. Security Assistance to Israel:
The 10-Year MOU

Security assistance to Israel advances America's interests and values, helps enable our democratically to defend itself and strengthens the ironclad relationship between the United States and the Jewish state.
Throughout its 78 year history, the modern Jewish state has yet to know a day in which it is recognized by all its neighbors, and it continues to face an immensely challenging security environment.
The current Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed in 2016 by President Barack Obama and runs from Fiscal Year (FY) 2019 through 2028, committing the United States to providing $3.3 billion per year in security assistance and $500 million for cooperative missile defense programs.

Every Middle Easterner who knows anything is going to be warning the world that you cannot trust Israel while we get ignored while Israel triggers another war and fucks it all up again. Understand this if nothing else: Israeli politics needs war. That’s how they resolve tensions between them.

Read Arab engagement with Zionism from Edward Said to Mahmoud Darwish to Elias Khoury. You may be surprised to know that some of the most insightful takes have come from those of us who are forced to deal with Israel's reality. Unlike with most ppl, it's not some abstraction in a faraway land to us.

At risk of repeating myself: The Luddites weren’t against technology. They were against getting put out of work by a technology that did a version of their job faster but worse, in the service of increasing profits for their bosses.
