I wasn't speaking hypothetically, I had literally just been cornered and verbally harassed in my own apartment building. I wasn't "over reacting". I was graceful as I could be to try to explain things but then was met with a sort of weird victim blaming mentality, suggesting I provoked it.

So I have put up with a person in my social circle for years because she is my best friend's life partner, and an otherwise incredibly smart and emotionally mature person. This was someone I used to look up to and seek out their point of view. The last 5 years has been a spiraling down.
