Anyone UK There is an email scam going around saying your TV Licence Direct Debit has failed, asking you to contact and send money. I do not pay this by direct debit, and BBC logo used wrong. Best thing is to ignore any such contact. Or contact official TV Licence authority, not contact scammers

Problem ending Triple Lock is that 2.5% on £12,500 is not much. Inflation is officially 3.1%, again not much either. People find with food, heating, petrol, prices rising much more than that. Wage inflation gave an extra security. Is it really going to rocket, with job market very tough ?

Burnham/Healey promises are for 2029 or later. Nothing changes now. LIp service to debt/deficit crisis, but it gets worse every day. Last bit on AB. Says new National Social Care system and org will be funded by complusory public contribution. Like NHS and Welfare State is supposed to be by National Insurance. But NI is not enough, so some from other taxes and borrowing. Huge set up costs, massive tax/NI increases may not work.

Labour have only 🏆 an open overall majority in The House of Commons under 4 leaders. Attlee Wilson, Blair, Starmer. I am not rushing to the bookies to put a bet on AB becoming the 5th. Leaders who are shy of election, like Home, Callaghan and Brown, do not fair well.

Breaking Triple Lock would hurt millions poor pensioners very hard. State Pension £12,500 pa. Have earned this over circa 50 years. Triple Lock says 2.5% increase or rate of inflation, whichever higher. Is not excessive. How much will ministers and MPs get increase wise ? @andyburnham.bsky.social .

If Prime Minister drops the Triple Lock for pensioners; there should certainly be a General Election. @andyburnham.bsky.social claims to stand by the 2024 Labour manifesto, that this Parliament and Labour were elected on. Keeping Triple lock was an oath : kept by Sir Keir Starmer and Rachel Reeves.

Mr Burnham given way to Trump on most issues. He presents this as a triumph. But the opposite is true. It is a sham, the same as he is. Just hope he does not get us into more "Trump Trouble" . Our forces helping Saudi Arabia, deeply disturbing, I think. They can afford to defend themselves.
