Apparently, Margaret Hamilton died today.

I sold four prints and a display piece this weekend. That’s literally 5x more sales than I’ve ever made. Not exactly rent money but still really cool to know other folks are enjoying my art and willing to pay me for my work! More on Terrain to come after a short vacation

If you haven’t seen Garin’s work, give him a look. He’s got some really incredibly detailed and weird work that consistently blows me away.

Watching a bunch of Zero Company & while it looks like a Star Wars ass Star Wars game, it also feels very, very “typical modern game” from the outside looking in. If that makes sense. Still, late Clone Wars, make your own team, SRPG with narrative design is an idea I love.

Revisiting some old art bits to do a fun revamp for my business cards! Super excited for the show next week!! October 1st & 2nd, come out to Terrain 17 for a HUGE show. See comments for link #spokane #art #terrain17

A photo of several items spread across the top of a white, glass top desk. String lights and multiple desk lamps reflect across the glass surface, lighting the items from underneath.

Two orange boxes sit at the top of the image with one open and empty and the other with “Agfa, AGFA-GEVAERT PROCESSING LABORATORY, INC., FLUSHING, NEW YORK 11352” written on it. The empty one the left appears able to hold photo slides. Below the left box is a Micron pen of some kind.

Centered below the boxes are three images. Two are photo slides, neither with their photos fully visible but seeming to be some kind of landscapes. The third image sits between the other two and is a textured business card. The card has the image of a river valley with a prominent apartment building in the background. Hand drawn as if coming from the building is a thought or speech bubble with the words “ARConnolly.carrd.co” written in it. Additionally, the Bluesky handle of “@Notes-by-Alyx” is visible, printed in the bottom left corner.

Two interviews today. Both jobs lied and pretended to be for local businesses. Turns out they were delivery jobs for Amazon. So yea. Just more job hurdles.

Played the System Shock remake demo and had fun. Definitely interested but also, I’m deep in a new Vintage Story run and I’m itching for a good CRPG (debating on Neverwinter Nights).

30 years ago I read “The Hobbit” for the first time. I thought it was often dull & bit messy. Today, I finished it again for the first time since & my opinion hasn’t changed. That said, I understand the spirit of it & its historical context far better than before. I fell a little in love this time.

Muppet Treasure Island was one of my favorite movies as a kid and while I'm certain its comedy hasn't aged well, it still shaped a big part of my understanding of comedy. Tim Curry was a huge part of that.

Turns out “core rules” don’t cover the options to make a gang. You know, the thing you need to even play? You need the specific gang book for that I guess? I’m very tired of capitalism and desperately hope I can return this for something I can use. #tabletop #warhammer #necromunda

Couldn't sleep. Ended up sketching out some new enemy types for Veil Runners that essentially are elementals mixed with body horror. They're magical glitches created from the devastation of a planet & its natural forces being twisted beyond what was normal. God's dying is a nasty business.

I saw a post saying that punk can’t be optimistic, that anger is the core of its existence. I agree that anger is the driving force, but for me it’s always been tempered with a drive for better, happier things. What’s the point of change, of that anger, if you don’t build something better?

Spokane is really suffering under a combination of terrible wildfires. My house was near the epicenter of the autumn lane fire, and against all odds, survived, but many of my neighbors were not so lucky. It’s bad, folks. Time to help your neighbors!

Spokane update: Bags are packed & we’re stressed, but ok atm. We’re a little south of most of it. Thankfully I didn’t work this weekend. Parts I frequently deliver to were hit. This will change the face of Spokane & its people. Hopefully we’ll learn something from it. Love you all, stay safe

It took me years to acknowledge this. There’s a lot of energy and labor that go into writing even when not actively writing. I have thousands of notes that directly relate to my work from thinking.

Honestly, today has fucking sucked. Bad brain day + bad luck/lots of tiny problems + weeks of no time for art has made for an absolute mess of a time. Did have some good Indian food though, so I’ll take that win.
