Pizza Friday has moved to Saturday this week because someone worked late on Thursday and forgot to start the dough. That same person also didn’t pay attention in the supermarket and got burrata instead of mozzarella. It was great! Also made the dough with slightly higher hydration, much improved.

I often use a grain mix in my breakfast okayu that contains black rice, which gives it a pink tint. Today I replace it with brown rice (I go 3/4 white, 1/4 whatever) and for some reason I'm loving it hard. So good! Served with poached chicken thigh and braised endive from the allotment. #foodSky

This is not the weather I moved to North Yorkshire for! It's getting very hard and time consuming to keep the #allotment watered, and we're all waiting for the hose pipe ban that will inevitably follow. We're not allowed to use hoses to water on the plot, but we can use them to fill water butts.

After my #sourdough accident last week I thought maybe I should try #baking a planned #focaccia. It turned out delicious. And I didn't even modify my recipe, it was the usual 3:5 ratio of water to flour, and 80% strong white with 20% wholemeal. I just added a generous glugg of olive to the dough.
