It's almost as if airborne precautions (aka N95, not baggy surgical masks and certainly not bare faces) in places where airborne illnesses abound in on a daily basis should be a default setting...

That's how we got greeted in a store one time too: "Not catching anything today are ya". "Nope, why should we". Blows my mind that being bare faced in places like that (or better yet, public restrooms) somehow is the hill worth dying on.

Every job and every profession has people who somehow managed to fake their way through but never really made it

It's all fine and dandy *as long as you can keep PPE on* Having to unmask for a procedure, heaven forbid vomit or not be able to sit there for hours without breaking the seal for hydration - nightmare. I don't really have qualms going places in p100+eye prot but 'healthcare' is a different story

+ some of us who have the privilege of being temporarily able bodied and healthy actually appreciate this status as it's not a given and we want to and are trying to keep things this way as long as we can! How come out right to protect our health can be denied, how dumb and short-sighted it is!!!

Not to mention it's gonna stop ZERO criminals from commiting a crime. They literally are gonna break one law but now they'll do it obeying another and not mask if they planned on it? Wtf are they kidding 🤦

And for the love of all Saints don't make yourself look dumb and utterly incompetent by not wearing a proper n95. Especially when your patient needs to break the seal

We ALL need it, we ALL need an equal access to subsequent boosters if we choose to get them. It's not that anyone makes all people to get them at this point and we're not in 2020/21 where there was a shortage of them. Make enough for everyone who wants them!!! Enough gatekeeping!

;-( I know of two. In a 40M country. <Banging head against a wall> Any harassment for yours? Knowing 'my people' I suppose it would be much worse there than in Canada, even though I do live in the reddest of the provinces.

Did you see any maskers in Poland? It's my home country but I haven't lived there since 2019 and can't fathom going back now ;/

Yes, because we always go there because we're bored and just couldn't come up with a better thing to do 🤦

From the WHO's Director General (Dec 10, 2024) 👇
The end of this month, the 31st of December, will mark the fifth anniversary of the first reports to WHO of pneumonia caused by a then-unknown pathogen.

In the past five years, more than 7 million deaths from COVID-19 have been reported to WHO, but we estimate the true death toll to be at least three times higher.

We cannot talk about COVID in the past tense. It’s still with us, it still causes acute disease and “long COVID”, and it still kills.

On average this year, about 1000 deaths from COVID-19 have been reported to WHO each week – and that’s just from the few countries that are still reporting.

The world might want to forget about COVID-19, but we cannot afford to.

For serious, aren't people sick tired (no pun intended lol) of fighting one bout of illness after another? Can't 'live your life' if you're constantly getting sick. Why do they keep doing it to themselves?

I had a gvt appt this week. The only masked one in the whole joint ofc. Played the "high risk can't catch anything" card (true by all means). Once I was done the clerk asked the next person to wait "until the sanitize everything" after I left. Because I was the plague carrying one 😂
