Samus & Kirby

I went to see Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s All of a Sudden (or Soudain, as it’s called here)! It’s an incredibly humane, life-affirming film that never drags despite its 196-minute runtime. To my surprise (and delight!), the movie also works as a sharp critique of late-stage capitalism!

After what feels like an eternity, I finally got the last piece I needed to complete the art wing! I wonder if I can catch and donate every remaining critter before the next Animal Crossing comes out. Finishing the museum would put a nice bow on my time with the game!

I’m glad I was right about Kirby, but I’m even happier I was completely wrong about Metroid Ravenous! When the woman narrating the trailer mentioned a moon, I started hoping against hope that I was hearing Samus and then screamed out loud when it was confirmed to be her!

I don’t have many predictions for today’s Nintendo Direct that I feel confident about, but I’m pretty sure Kirby will show up. Of course, I’d love to see the leaked Metroid Ravenous, but Metroid games tend to launch in the second half of the year, which makes an early 2027 release unlikely.

I’ve played through all of them! Link’s Awakening was the first Zelda game I finished, but I’ve since gone back and cleared the titles preceding it too. For years, Four Swords and Tri Force Heroes were my two big holdouts until I finally got to beat them with some Discord buddies!

Based on what was shown today, the Ocarina of Time remake seems to be very faithful to the Nintendo 64 original, even going so far as to preserve the overall size of areas such as Hyrule Field. Learning that the game’s characters will get additional dialogue has me very excited!

In just a few more days, we’ll finally know whether the Ocarina of Time remake stays faithful to the Nintendo 64 classic in terms of gameplay and structure or takes a more ambitious approach, expanding its scope to bring it more in line with recent Zelda games! I’m hoping for the latter!

That’s a great point! I find it baffling that the HD remasters of The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess are still stuck on Wii U after all these years. For the longest time, I thought Nintendo was just waiting for the right moment to rerelease them, but I’m starting to have doubts.

That’s totally fair. The Wii version is actually my preferred way to play Echoes!

Echoes has a special place in my heart, but I think a lot of people feel the same way you do. It’s probably the most divisive game in the original trilogy.

I’d love nothing more than to be proven wrong, but my current assumption is that instead of giving it the full Metroid Prime Remastered treatment, Nintendo will just make the GameCube version of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes available through its subscription service.

To this day, I'm heartbroken that Descending Stories: Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju has never received a physical release in the West. Anime Limited once planned to bring the show to Blu-ray in the UK but unfortunately lost the rights before it could happen.

I was today years old when I found out that the composer of one of my most anticipated indie projects, .45 Parabellum Bloodhound, has been uploading tracks from the game to YouTube for the past two years. Now excuse me while I jam to Hydromancer for the next hour!
