Flew all the way to D.C. to celebrate a college professor who changed our LIVES. 93 yrs old now. Never stopped speaking unapologetic Blackness & community into us. Had to bring my baby to class once. I got embarrassed when he roamed. Baba Doc Acklyn looked at me and said, “Let that baby play.” 🥹

My ‘character flaw’ is that I do pet stray animals. As a Black woman. Yes. 🤸🏿‍♀️ This was MY street cat until he didn’t come around anymore. (I know he passed away because he was my buddy for like 12 years.) I’ve only been bitten once. By a field mouse at camp as a kid. I even let bees land on me.
