Second illustration from Cynthia Sheppard’s course at Smarter Artschool. The focus was on showing the story through characters interactions. I struggled a lot with ideas for the second part of the course, but I like what I came up with.

A grim illustration showing us a mysterious place. Children are standing in line, their heads bowed, l their parents behind them, holding them tensely. A weird old creature covered in a mix of rugs and jewelry, slowly goes by, gesturing towards one of them, a girl, marking their choice with creepy white hand, decorated with many bracelets. The girl is the only one looking at the creature, her face is tense but not scared.

I know everyone are just as tired as me after the past several years (esp last one). We don’t want fire, destruction or any more life changing events that would make us stronger. So my fire horse is more of a celestial fire, giving hope, strength and resilience 💜 I hope we can get through this.

My first illustration from Cynthia Sheppard’s course in Smarter Artschool I have two more still cooking :3 The course was a blast! Cynthia is a fantastic teacher and a very empathetic person. I loved everything: the info, the approach, the feedback sessions. So yeah, highly recommended!

This year summary! It did had its challenges, but it wasn’t too bad. I made two more traditional paintings, so at least I’m crawling in the right direction. Next year I hope to focus on faces and creatures. And do some more traditional ofc, but life isn’t helping.

My artworks for ATLA x MtG! I’m myself a fan of the show so it was an exciting opportunity and a very interesting style experiment. I’m honored to illustrate such important cards for EDH :33 I’m just a bit sad they are so hard to get :DD still hope to see some of them at the shows!

Phew, 2024! With its ups, downs and challenges it was a good year, as good as it can be currently. Settling in a new country, learning a language while working A LOT was challenging. I hope to have more art and less survivng next year, and I’m happy we have Bluesky now :3

Irina Nordsol Kuzmina @nord-sol.com · 16/12/2024

And last four! There was no card, or maybe I missed it. I also forgot to include one day: there was paper again and some foil sheets.

140

Irina Nordsol Kuzmina @nord-sol.com · 16/12/2024

Days 17-20. I'm using this board for painting!

Stuff from days 17-20: a square thin wooden board approximately 15 by 15, a spatula, a brush of size 1, acrylic varnish, modeling paste and glitter paint.

130

Irina Nordsol Kuzmina @nord-sol.com · 16/12/2024

Days 13-16. I forgot the card, but the idea is to paint something on this funky plastic, and I'll definitely try! Also curious about acrylic gouache. And what do I do with this weird brush??

Days 13-16 of the advent have a funky plastic, transparent but colored-ish, two tubes of acrylic gouache, green and red, golden oil marker and two brushes, one size 1, another one of an interesting shape with tail being almost a half of the brush, while the brush itself is shorter than a normal one.

120

Irina Nordsol Kuzmina @nord-sol.com · 29/11/2024

Days 9-12. There are: weird paper looking like a normal printing paper, white wax crayon that repels watercolour, waterbrush and 4 watercolour sachets, gel silver pen and black brushpen. Not into the idea of wax and watercolour experiments, but happy to have more sketching stuff!

150

Irina Nordsol Kuzmina @nord-sol.com · 27/11/2024

Days 5-8 are for creating Christmas tree decorations: there are two balls, some shiny dust (it covered everything with glitter even while sealed, so I decided against opening it), two acrylic metallic pens and acrylic craft paints.

150

Irina Nordsol Kuzmina @nord-sol.com · 22/11/2024

Days 3 and 4 were tubes of paint each!

150

Irina Nordsol Kuzmina @nord-sol.com · 18/11/2024

Day 2 We have a super mega cheap palette, but also a tube of white acrylics!

270

Irina Nordsol Kuzmina @nord-sol.com · 18/11/2024

Day 1 Soo the idea is that they'll give everything needed to paint a bee on a scroll. The scroll is a curious thing, and paints and brushes are always welcome.

Day 1 of Arteza art advent contains a golden scroll, a black acrylic paint, a brush, and a brief description of the suggested project: painting a bee on a scroll.

Irina Nordsol Kuzmina @nord-sol.com · 18/11/2024

I got myself an art advent from Arteza (the only fine art advent that I found, let me know if you know any others!), and I'll post what's inside here in a thread ) Photo from web cause I forgot to make a nice photo of course
