Amsterdam Hosts WorldPride 2026 with a Focus on Unity
This summer, Amsterdam is the proud host of WorldPride 2026. This special event celebrates progress, as it marks 25 years since the first same-sex marriage and 30 years of Pride Amsterdam. The chosen theme for this year is "UNITY," which represents the city's goal to stand as a beacon of freedom and tolerance for the global LGBTIQ+ community. The program is incredibly diverse and includes many major highlights, such as the traditional Pride Walk, the iconic Canal Parade, and various film festivals and concerts. Additionally, the city is hosting the Sport Pride World Games, featuring over 60 different sporting events and 150 workouts for participants and spectators from all over the world. Beyond the celebrations, the event offers deep cultural experiences, including exhibitions on queer heritage and personal storytelling sessions.
