Essentially, Touhou draws vague silhouettes, rather well-defined images, allowing the viewers to fill in the silhouettes with their own interpretation of what it's meant to be. In the case of Yuiman and Ariya, their silhouettes can easily be interpreted as 2 girls kissing.
