If you've been needing an excuse to get a game that's about brewing tea, reflecting on life, and perhaps facing some hard truths, Wanderstop is part of the Steam Summer Sale! store.steampowered.com/app/1299460/...

A graphic for the Steam Summer Sale. It shows an illustrated background with what sems to be an orange cliffside and a green fairy. The text says "Steam Summer Sale: June 26th - July 10th @ 10 am PT"

In the lower half is the Wanderstop key art, showing Alta and Boro (two of the main characters) sitting on a bench outside a blue/pink forest and cozy tea shop. Alta looks upset and Boro looks content. Text says: "Wanderstop". The pricing indicates -20% off, 24.99 USD has a strikethrough and below it is the discounted price of 19.99 USD.

We're going to be moving forward under the expectation that future Pixel devices may not meet the requirements to run GrapheneOS (grapheneos.org/faq#future-d...) and may not support using another OS. We've been in talks with a couple OEMs about making devices and what it would cost.

I have this idea brewing in my mind. I miss notifications from Twitter when people post. I could add that back by having an application watching the firehose, giving it a list of accounts to filter on, then send notifications using ntfy.sh. It sounds stupid, but it might work...

New song: "Star Riders". I'm actually really proud of this one. Check it out on Soundcloud here: soundcloud.com/noodlez1232/...

Star Riders

Made using Dn-Famitracker. I came up with the arpeggio in the beginning, and honestly the rest just flowed out of me.

Why does bluesky even have a redirect service? Why would they want more traffic? Seems kinda stupid. Unless they're selling our data.

Wrote a new song using FamiTracker: soundcloud.com/nathaniel-ba... It sounds kinda like a JRPG boss fight maybe? I made it in like 2 hours after not writing any real music for more than a year, and I think it came out good.

I just saw a Rust project called `is_wsl`. That is about 27 lines long. That depends on `is_docker` which is 23 lines long. And then people wonder why Rust projects are bloated. This is NPM all over again. is_wsl was a dependency of `open` which seemed like an actual useful dependency.

I am convinced that there is no such thing as a good build system. The moment you have to go out of its comfort zone, it is nothing but hacks and hacks until it's just shell scripts again. All of them. I guess at least Make doesn't hide that fact and owns it.

I see some replies of "But they're available elsewhere!" Lest we forget, when WB pulled the plug on Filmstruck (and Dramafever), they assured us that their new platform would be the Everything platform, you wouldn't miss a thing, it would have it all. I didn't believe them then and I was right

I finished it up, and lo and behold it did not work. I'm not quite sure what I did wrong and I don't feel like I have the diagnostic tools to troubleshoot it. All I have is a multimeter (a bad one) and a 4k resistor.

I've been learning SMD soldering using this practice board and I'm actually pretty happy with how this board has come so far! The resistor packs were actually soldered on using hot air, and it was the first time I've ever used it. Pretty cool!

An image of an SMD soldering practice board with quite a few but not all the parts soldered on it.
