James @nonzerosum.games · 23/09/2026Welcome AI to one of the great joys of intelligence; cognitive dissonance. 030
James @nonzerosum.games · 21/09/2026Yep. I’m a one man band, I’d prefer to spend my time creating than “doing” social media. It’s effective and means I attract like-minded people (it’s not random) in a pretty niche subject. Which puts me in touch with people I like spending my online time with. It’s a win-win. 200

James @nonzerosum.games · 20/09/2026Fair enough, sorry, it’s my bot, it’s not meant to like the same account twice. The liked accounts log must have got bloated and failed. One of its search terms is “systems” which you use on lots of posts. I’m going to tone it back to more specific terms and less accounts—I have plenty of followers. 211
James @nonzerosum.games · 20/09/2026Brilliant, love that you can post NIN with a picture of Johnny Cash an everyone knows what song you're talking about. 010

James @nonzerosum.games · 15/09/2026I agree with you we should hold ourselves to high standards, and pay attention to externalities. My point in the post was that many of these Molochian actions are taken by ordinary people, so we can't assume these actions are those of evil others—discounting ourselves from the equation. 120
James @nonzerosum.games · 15/09/2026If you need further reminders of what you previously said, you are welcome to comment on the site (where there is a less restrictive word limit). Otherwise I'll need to block you, sorry. I'm not interested in following someone double down on a mistake. Mistakes are okay, if they are acknowledged. 120
James @nonzerosum.games · 15/09/2026You also said this: "It's inadvisable to let perfect be the enemy of progress." Which is also inconsistent your original statement. It says there are some actions where it's "inadvisable" to avoid them out of perfectionism... Something "inadvisable" not to do, is reasonable. 110
James @nonzerosum.games · 15/09/2026This statement: “Those kinds of selfish and myopic acts are not rational or reasonable.” ... is not consistent with an acknowledgment of unavoidable externalities. Doubling down on this contradiction doesn't help. If you think all externalities are avoidable, then yes, we disagree. 110
James @nonzerosum.games · 12/09/2026Tetras? Thread.. also I’ll use a keyboard so autocorrect doesn’t make things even worse. 110
James @nonzerosum.games · 12/09/2026I’m happy to have a conversation over at the site, but this comment tetras is difficult to follow, sorry. 120
James @nonzerosum.games · 12/09/2026“It's inadvisable to let perfect be the enemy of progress” I absolutely agree. This seems at odds with the barrage of puritanical contents you’ve been making. I’m not even sure what your point is. You just seem very angry at me for some reason. 🤷♂️ do I know you? 210
James @nonzerosum.games · 11/09/2026So you don’t buy t-shirts priced under $30? Or eat meat? Or buy products with packaging? Or travel on planes? Or play computer games, or use AI? There are the sort of rational/reasonable actions I’m talking about that have some degree of underappreciated external cost. 110
James @nonzerosum.games · 11/09/2026What acts are you talking about? I didn’t stipulate any particular acts, so I’m not sure how, with so much certainty, you can claim all such acts are not rational or reasonable. 222
James @nonzerosum.games · 10/09/2026I guess that was my way of saying, I appreciate your fervour, but do not find Bluesky comments a great discussion forum. 130

James @nonzerosum.games · 06/09/2026I remember leaning over and whispering “non-zero-sum game” in my wife’s ear in the movies when Louise couldn’t think of the answer to her daughter’s question. 120
James @nonzerosum.games · 06/09/2026Sorry about the long delay, the post is at nonzerosum.games/graviton.html which explains the set up. The math in short uses an inverse power law to determine pull/push = (random valence constant / (distance+1))^2. There are weights set with sliders that feed into it but that’s the basic math.nonzerosum.gamesEMERGENT GRAVITY ~ exploring the speculative foundations of gravity and emergence from entropyA speculative exploration into the foundations of gravity, the role of entropy in emergence, and the philosophical implications of creating something from nothing. 000

James @nonzerosum.games · 01/09/2026Thanks, I use Adobe Premiere, I’m a documentary editor for my day job so it’s just the tool I’m used to using. 130
James @nonzerosum.games · 01/09/2026Thanks, yes, they are my own illustrations. Funny you mention Google’s cartoons, I’m looking to do more animated elements inspired by another tech giant’s snoopy cartoons ( the Apple TV screensaver ). Simple but adorable. 100
James @nonzerosum.games · 25/08/2026It’s a reality of the world we live in, understanding the dynamics at play is important. Saying it’s “disingenuous” to talk about them is policing concepts. I’m not talking about the virtues of eugenics or something controversial, geopolitical equilibria are an academic interest of mine. 251
James @nonzerosum.games · 25/08/2026Didn’t realise I was talking to the concept police. Sorry officer. 120
James @nonzerosum.games · 23/08/2026The equilibria on MAD and roulette are entirely different. I'm not sure there's any way to demonstrate "blind luck" since we have no counter-factual, but it can be shown that when the dynamics of MAD broke down (through asymmetrical tech), things got a lot more dangerous. 111

James @nonzerosum.games · 23/08/2026Ah, okay thanks for “giving me” the immediately obvious workaround everyone uses… I guess. The point is, it’s a problem that needn’t exist. 010
