Global simultaneous breadbasket failure. If not during this El Nino, then during the next one. 2029/2030? When rationing of food and water starts after inflation, money loses it values and a vicious cycle starts until we reach collapse and extinction due to overpopulation.

I do not see doubling. Closer to tripling. But maybe I use the wrong data sets (NASA, NOAA, Berkeley adjusted, Copernicus)? What data sets does Mann use, I wonder? Same regarding EEI. I see more tripling than doubling. But hey, it's really hard to read numbers these days? And who cares if 2x or 3x?

#EU spends hundreds of times more subsidies on high-emissions beef and dairy than legumes and nuts foodrise.org.uk/press-releas... We could end half of all climate heating (W/m2) overnight. That we don't even discuss it, shows that we are not serious about wanting to live on. #climate #NTHE
Beef and lamb received an estimated 580 times more CAP subsidies than legumes such as lentils and beans in 2020.
Dairy received an estimated 554 times more CAP subsidies than nuts and seeds in 2020.
Meat and dairy received over 10 times more CAP subsidies than fruit and vegetable production, and more than 16 times more than cereal production.
Overall, the EU directed three times more CAP subsidies to production of high-emitting animal-sourced foods than to plant-based foods in 2020 – around 77% of total CAP subsidies (€39 billion out of €51 billion).
The estimated €39 billion in CAP subsidies spent on animal-sourced foods in 2020 makes up nearly a quarter (23%) of the EU’s total budget of €168.7 billion for 2020.

I never made an argument about 100% or nothing. I stated several times that some reduce step by step and that this is positive. Since the beginning of time, it was about "a better future". Today, it's about "a future or not" and how much we want to keep on living. It's about preventing quick suicide

Humans have always raped and murdered too. That we use this as an argument shows how low the public discussion is. But it is still important to mention that eating plant based seems to be healthier than eating animal foods.

What I am discussing is about life and death today and not about personal health or sexy. "Most people know that eating meat is bad for their health and harmful for the planet. It’s getting them to actually change their diet that’s the hard part — and that’s exactly why it won’t happen by choice."

This is an ok single approach to to be more healthy. Today, this is about something else like a ability to survive. If the benefit of surviving needs to be made sexy, we are doomed. “Nothing will increase the chances for survival of life as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet.” - Einstein

Because some early humans ate some meat does not mean that… “The findings come from a seven-year study published Monday in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences that involved the collaboration of more than 50 international scientists.” news.harvard.edu/gazette/stor...

"It seems to be a very human-specific evolutionary trait that our Streptococcus acquired the ability to do this," Warinner said
The findings also push back on the idea that Neanderthals were top carnivores, given that the "brain requires glucose as a nutrient source and meat alone is not a sufficient
source,
" Warinner said.
Researchers said the finding makes sense because for hunter-gatherer societies around the world, starch-rich foods - roots, tubers (like potatoes), and forbs, as well as nuts and seeds, for example - are important and reliable nutritionsources. In fact, starch currently makes up about 60 percent of calories for humans worldwide.
