Many cool new games but no time to play them because work. Thankfully I'm very far away from hype cycles these days, and I usually dive into either obscure stuff, or stuff that's been popular years ago. Quite possibly the comfiest approach.

The good news is that we finally learned that 505 Games is the publisher they found for Armed Fantasia. The bad news is that at the same moment we learned they're not the publisher anymore. Crazy times. (screenshot from this document: digitalbros-com.b-cdn.net/wp-content/u... )

This is true of many art forms, but speaking as a translator, a big part of the job is absorbing details. To properly understand the context and flow of a story and its dialogue, you spend large amounts of time thinking about the characters, their motivations, the world they live in, etc.

We throw newbs in a pit. We tell them they must be competitive auteurs from day one, and that they’re disposable. Young professionals need space to learn. Apprenticeships and junior roles. They don’t know what they don’t know. We need entry level jobs. We’re moving in the opposite direction.

When the LLM-based Ryza chat app was announced, I fully expected that people would break it in the first week. And the Japanese users did not disappoint, making the synthesized voice say えっちしよう and whatnot. Will this teach the devs/publishers a lesson? Stay tuned to find out. (Probably not.)

Went to the Ascendance of a Bookworm signing! While it’s a bummer they didn’t let us use personal items (other shows the producers worked on and stuff Iguchi voiced) I did show Yuka Iguchi my Miku CD to which she said “Miku-Chan!!!” so that’s a big W in my book lmao

QA mindset is overtaking my brain after years of job experience. Every technical issue I encounter immediately goes into "oh yeah, this was probably caused that thing or that other thing, and then someone looked at it in that specific way and it slipped". Just chill, brain. We're not on the clock.
