Another classic, not sure if I've already posted this one here.

Harry Potter money directly harms trans people. JK Rowling openly uses her profits to fund anti-trans groups. These groups are so successful in stripping trans people's rights largely due to being so well funded. There is a direct line from money spent on Harry Potter to trans people being harmed.

I recently found an artist that takes comms and draws some niche content that I like. I was thrilled, but while reading their TOS, one sentence made me do a complete 180. Them: "I don't draw backgrounds..." Me: That's fair, they're complex. Them: "...but I can use AI to generate one for you." Me:

I've heard comm artists talk about a sweet spot; comms come in slowly enough to keep on top of, but consistently enough to always be working and getting paid. Maybe try slowly raising prices until you find that sweet-spot for you?

If you find your slots fill up fast and there's more work than you can reasonably do in a couple month time-frame, then that probably means you can raise your prices! Higher prices do mean you'll get less requests, but ideally also less work for more money. Your time is valuable.
