You can get a blood test to see if you have a strong enough of an immunity but I was in that pre 1989 boat and got a vaccine through insurance for free. The blood test was more invasive, had a cost, and time lapse so I just went all in on a fresh shot. Your decision/path depends on your situation.

This also depends on the generation. Decades ago, parents had to be asked from the tv "It's 10pm, do you know where your kids are?" because it was widely accepted to parent so neglectfully. This overwhelming thinned the herd of the most vulnerable children, autistic kids disproportionately.
