Why would it be a hot topic? Yes there is some ai usage for reverse enginerring parts of the gesture system i couldnt understand on my own, bug finding if i couldnt figure it out myself and smaller tasks i didnt have time for as im the only one working on this project.

The SD1 has the SD855. Unsure if it uses it, but i honestly dont know if its possible. Ill leave that to the community after i release the source

And here are my GeekBench6/7 benchmarks for the Microsoft Surface Duo running my Android 16 ROM after making a few tweaks to RAM, GPU/CPU. It scored well, nothing crazy but the device is snappy. Im gonna eventually look into squeezing more performance out of it.

Here's someones stock benchmarks for the Microsoft Surface Duo running android 12. Its the highest i found from Geekbench browser, so its the baseline im using.

Thats really down to the user. A17 only requires around 512MB of ram iirc. So after optimization its how you utilize the device thatll answer that question

You can still use the stock firmware from Microsoft's website to restore everything. Which is also why I say to keep slot A untouched.

I have an ayn Thor too! They're so cool, I just wish they'd make XL versions for people like me with big hands 😂 But yes it does use both. I show that in my pictures and videos I've posted. My goal is to have the stock gestures and folding implemented 1:1 so people can expand on them.

I'll have instructions. Gonna try and make a script/wizard that walks people through the process to make it easy. Just make sure to have a copy of the stock firmware around for when/if you wanna revert.

Nah this isn't a GSI. It's a full ROM. You'd flash from fastboot on slot b. I've found that slot A is buggy for some reason so it's best to keep that in working condition.

I'll keep working on the Surface Duo over time for both A16 and A17, but I will eventually hard shift to the Duo 2 since I'd like to daily drive that.

Soon I'll open the flood gates to my android 16 repo. Again things are buggy as far as gestures but it'll give anyone who wants to help a chance to report bugs and even join the project. A17 work will start sometime after that. And once I get A17 booted, I'll release that as well.

Porting over the duo framework has been an interesting process. There's so many things that depend on other under the hood services/dependencies. That being said it's like 70% completed, the last 30% has been extremely difficult lol
