Yes, unfortunately it has also lead to people using "organizer" as a title that they haven't really worked to earn. Usually it's just kind of cringy, but it does get to me when people use it to give themselves authority over others in movement spaces.

People are saying that Mackinaw City and Mackinaw Island are different. But as a Michigander...Mackinaw Island is only slightly better because it's an island with some history. Otherwise it's tourist trap city too. I love Northern MI and the UP but the Mackinaws are objectively the worst.

This is particularly wild to claim about Lawrence's campaign. It was largely about his anti data center stance that grew out of his environmental activism. And McKinney is well known around Detroit for his opposition to DTE for both affordability and environmental reasons.

I'm an eviction defense lawyer in Detroit and it's unbelievable how long my clients have to wait for their case to be heard. It's scheduled for 8:30 and I'll tell them to block off all day. Meanwhile if the judge or landlord attorney has to leave early we all better hurray up. Despicable.

The MI Supreme Court overturned Smith v. Globe today which will fundamentally change consumer litigation in MI. And for me personally it's a game changer because now we can go after attorneys fees in cases where the tenant has habitablity claims. Whooohoo!!

One side effect of recovering from cyclosporiasis is that I'm absolutely terrified to eat anything. I'm checking labels to ensure there isn't vegetables/fruits in prepared foods. And I have a lot of anxiety even when I'm eating something completely unrelated! I'm hungry but scared to eat.

Seriously. My old house is letting a lot of smoke in and I've got a headache, am slightly dizzy, and can't stop sneezing. And we're "only" at 182. My family in mid michigan is dealing with 335. It's nuts!
