otherwise, the refund will just be profit for the 3rd party contractor that AT&T sold it too. This is the kind of shit a functional congress could do something about....but unfortunately the United States hasn't had one of those for awhile. Luckily...I suppose...for me, I exist out of spite.

So, I have this damned prepaid debit card with $3.17 on it, and hoops to jump thru to get it to work (activation, identifying the expiration, any fees) and the kicker is these aren't likely to work where I'd want to use it for the 3.17. Because prepaid cards like this are considered a big fraud

So, I got a refund from AT&T today after canceling my internet service. Its a grand total of $3.17. Fine, whatever, it's my money if I overpaid I want it back...except, and this is just pure AT&T corpo bullshit....the sons of bitches send out "debit cards" to provide their refunds...
