Barcelona: gaba oolong y gyozas vegans :) #nom #tea #barcelona
A row of gyozas with a dip, and a cute little tea set. The tea in the cup doesn't look special but trust me

New market stall in Leiden is Japanese MOSHI! It's a sweet blob of snack, handmade and cute. You can have choco, pistachio, and more - but the connoisseurs skip all that and go direct to the RED BEAN mochi! Lovely sweet umami thing. #nom #leiden #mochi
My hand holds up a kawaii little potje with a mysterious orb inside. Or not so mysterious? Written on the top is KOSHI

Broccoli roasted with almond and cardamom (from Meera Sodha again). Pretty nice, rich, went down well. I'd probably make it a bit tarter next time, and cardamommier! #vegetarian #kitchendiary #meerasodha

London's "Drummond Street" was beloved for its Indian food. It's a shame that this "intangible heritage" was touched with an axe (the HS2 construction work). Still, as half of what it was, it's still there! You can get a dosa in an unfussy restaurant that's […] [Original post on hostux.social]

This is a photo of the delicious stew I had in Tangier - decadent with prunes, almonds, rose petals, sesame seeds. I'm not saying my version is as good as this but it's not a bad attempt...

Black bean and nectarine tacos! Oh my #nom. From "The Doctor's Kitchen": luscious fruity but smoky (griddled) nectarines and sweetcorn, with black beans and chilli. A must have. #vegan #vegetarian #kitchendiary
Oh and try to get corn tortilla not wheat, it's better. You see one here folded around the aforementioned, your eye drawn to the nectarine slices with their intense black lines from the griddle

Ravioli filled with "vegan foie gras". Is this... satire? It's tasty anyway
You won't actually spot it, hidden behind garnish and bright pink pickled radishes, in a vivid sky blue bowl! But the ravioli is in there somewhere

Persian salad of herbs, figs, witlof and labneh - big #nom! (Based on a recipe in "New Feast") Delicious flavours - fresh bitter creamy sweet - for a summer salad meal. #vegetarian #kitchendiary
A lovely dish of salad with figs and blobs of labneh (yogurt). You can also see olive oil and sumac atop, not strictly in the recipe but I couldn't help myself

Even more Moroccan inspired cooking! Today: mrouzia, a rich tagine/stew (veggie version) flavoured with honey, roast almond, sesame, prunes, apricots, saffron and ras-el-hanout. #nom #vegetarian #moroccancuisine #tagine #kitchendiary
The orb of couscous is what's catching the light on my dish, but the important part is in front. You can see the almonds, prunes, and a generous sprinkling of sesame seeds. It's all brown and orange but it's a trove of delights

As a sweet treat I loved these "briwate"/"briouate". They're samosa-like triangles. Sweet or savoury. My favourite was in Fes, a briouate filled with rice and sweetened with honey/syrup. A delicious hybrid of samosa, rice pudding and caramel flavours, all in one! #morocco #streetfood
A triangle of pastry. It looks like a samosa - except that you should already know it isn't by its syrupy shininess...

Enjoyed an "English afternoon tea" at Queens in Haarlem. Not the super-posh version, more the "mismatched crockery and too many pictures of royalty" homely version. The most notable delicacy was a savoury scone (herbs in) with guacamole & tomato. #haarlem #afternoontea #british
