For every group of 3 consecutive months from 1982 through 2025, I computed the Niño 3.4 sea surface temperature anomaly and plotted that point. I then plotted the point for the three months OND 2026 using the most recent CFSv2 Niño 3.4 forecast. A 1-in-12.5 million event.
