🫂🫂 I'm sorry. We're a communal species. Accommodations are reasonable & necessary. The burden of knowing/justifying what works shouldn’t always be put on the disabled person (especially when society doesn’t teach it). Shaming achieves very little, especially when someone is already trying & willing.

I’ve been SLOWLY making my way through Devin Price’s book ‘unlearning shame’. It discusses necessary disability accommodation and also discusses similar strategies that the automotive & smoking industries historically used, shifting the burden of responsibility onto consumers. It’s a worthy read.

I’m mad because the burden of responsibility is (as usual) put on individuals and we’re all getting mad at each-other because it’s more attainable than fighting corporations and mask wearing scam accounts. I DO want people to consider disability needs in their debates WHILE striving for better.

My exact circumstances are their own recipe. Laws need to be in place to protect people + people’s copyright/work. ‘Progress’ needs to slow. Mindless AI praise needs to be curbed. Ethical & eco standards need to be developed & enforced. Undisclosed/disingenuous AI should be banned. No excuse.

Personally I was already managing Dyslexia, ADHD & DPSD before my Dysautonomia kicked off. Now I’m managing all four. I miss my old capable self… I am not overlooking the fact these companies often pry on disability too + LLMs are atrocious for OCD sufferers. It’s a fine, very imperfect line.

I used to be a prod coordinator and DAMN organised; primary note taker & reliable communicator for multiple companies. 1 year ago I got MCAS. Now I get neuro inflammation. Flares mean processing disorders & memory retention issues, anxiety. Brute-forcing harms me. Summaries are sometimes necessary.

Hot take. As a disabled person the blanket ‘shame/block every AI user’ feels like being slapped twice. Disability is rarely considered in this convo. I’m not talking gen AI, I’m talking accessibility. I don’t WANT to need accessibility tools. I also don’t have the privilege of a human alternative.

Brain-fog Again. 😣 Short-term memory retention has been shot + regularly affects my reading comprehension/problem solving. This is all very hard to communicate to project leads without sounding like a chain of infinite excuses. Tough. I HAVE booked more RTMS therapy, so hopefully this will help.

Extreme examples of fraternity hazing involve cult-like indoctrination, physical & emotional trauma & extreme secret-keeping. The link between this, rape & abuse culture is well documented. Drugging, coercion and SA are not rites of passage, not 'a joke'. They are illegal acts of identifiable harm.

#ResidentEvil (2026) had one of the best first third of a film I’ve seen in a looooong time, and while I may not have looooved the ending, I did adore the MC WOW, what on screen charisma Austin Abrams had. Loved him in #Weapons (2025) too.

Today I’m rumanating on how Reddit loathes ADDyslexia. It doesn’t help that many large subs take seemingly EVERYTHING in bad faith (language inconsistency / processing difference included). Combo’d with the people who love to spark a dogpile can lead to a lot of cruelty.
