A tall man with red eyes, faintly yellow skin, and long black hair with a pronounced widow's peak, wearing a long black coat, white vest, blue shirt and pants, and boots, advances on Spider-Man over the course of three panels.

"Here is how it will happen. You will run. I will pursue. I do not tire. I do not grow weary. I do not give up. You may get ahead, but eventually I will catch up. Now that I have found you, I will always be able to find you, wherever you hide. This may take hours or days. The longest was a week. But in time you will tire. And then you will die. But I give you my solemn word: it's nothing personal."

The comments, at least, seem to uniformly agree.
A comment from Bronson van Wyck:

Who can be surprised that a critic whose own book is humbly subtitled “How to Look at Art” is less than enthusiastic about an institution that pointedly rejects the idea that people need to be told how to look at art. The reviewer tells us more about his own insecurities than about the ostensible subject of his piece. The Lucas Museum is an incredible gift. Many of us are thrilled to see not only its contents, the diverse array of pieces interesting in and of themselves, but also to have a window into the perspective of perhaps the greatest storyteller of our age. The writer’s inability to find the joy in a project of epic beauty and scale, where high and low mix with seeming effortlessness, that allows us to see the common creative threads that connect us all, tells us that, indeed, this museum is not for him but instead for the other 99.99% of us who yearn for more not less access to art and less not more self-appointed gatekeepers.

Last night I ran into a term I hadn't seen before for an AAVE construction, "indignant 'come'", and spent a pleasant half-hour learning about other constructions I'd realized were there but hadn't realized were formal parts of the language.
15. Indignant <Come>

The Black English <come>, alongside being the verb equivalent to “come” in Mainstream American English, can be used to introduce information about which the speaker is indignant—close to morally offended. So, <yesterday, he come talmbout he rich now> means “yesterday, he said he’s rich now (and I’m not happy about it).” No motion is necessarily implied.

From David Lee Roth's autobiography:
Van Halen was the first band to take huge productions into tertiary, third-level markets. We'd pull up with nine eighteen-wheeler trucks, full of gear, where the standard was three trucks, max. And there were many, many technical errors — whether it was the girders couldn't support the weight, or the flooring would sink in, or the doors weren't big enough to move the gear through.
The contract rider read like a version of the Chinese Yellow Pages because there was so much equipment, and so many human beings to make it function. So just as a little test, in the technical aspect of the rider, it would say "Article 148: There will be fifteen amperage voltage sockets at twenty-foot spaces, evenly, providing nineteen amperes ..." This kind of thing. And article number 126, in the middle of nowhere, was: "There will be no brown M&M's in the backstage area, upon pain of forfeiture of the show, with full compensation."
So, when I would walk backstage, if I saw a brown M&M in that bowl ... well, line-check the entire production. Guaranteed you're going to arrive at a technical error. They didn't read the contract. Guaranteed you'd run into a problem. Sometimes it would threaten to just destroy the whole show. Something like, literally, life-threatening.The folks in Pueblo, Colorado, at the university, took the contract rather kinda casual. They had one of these new rubberized bouncy basketball floorings in their arena. They hadn't read the contract, and weren't sure, really, about the weight of this production; this thing weighed like the business end of a 747.
I came backstage. I found some brown M&M's, I went into full Shakespearean "What is this before me?" ... you know, with the skull in one hand ... and promptly trashed the dressing room. Dumped the buffet, kicked a hole in the door, twelve thousand dollars' worth of fun.
The staging sank through their floor. They didn't bother to look at the weight requirements or anything, and this sank through their new flooring and did eighty thousand dollars' worth of damage to the arena floor. The whole thing had to be replaced. It came out in the press that I discovered brown M&M's and did eighty-five thousand dollars' worth of damage to the backstage area.
Well, who am I to get in the way of a good rumor?

RT with your home river I currently live in the Red Cedar watershed, but my home river will always be the Gunpowder Falls. This photo, from districtangling.com, was taken within a mile of the house I grew up in.
A man in fly-fishing gear stands in a shallow river (about up to his knees). The banks are grassy and lined with tall trees, although beyond him is a small dirt-and-pebble beach. At the top of the photo, a green-painted metal frame bridge crosses the river.

Richmond Lattimore's 1965 translation, in the 1975 edition. My first Iliad was the 1991 Penguin Classics edition of Fagles's translation, although I know Fagles better in the 1997 PC edition since it's what I had in college.
Cover of the Harper Colophon 1975 edition of Richmond Lattimore's translation of The Odyssey (titled "The Odyssey of Homer: A Modern Translation by Richmond Lattimore"). Gold text on a black background. The majority of the cover is a gold-and-black illustration of a man in a cape and crested helmet, holding a spear and looking over his shoulder as a rowed, single-masted ship passes in front of the sun in the background. The sea is represented by repeated wavy gold lines, the sky by a pink field. The 1991 Penguin Classics edition of "Homer: The Iliad" translated by Robert Fagles. White text on a black background; the cover art is a bronze statue of a bronze age armored spearman. The spear is missing, but the helmet crest and shield are intact. The 1997 edition of Fagles's Odyssey. The cover is gold and light blue, showing an ancient Greek depiction of a bearded man and a fish; by and large the text is black, but the title is white block letters on a metallic red background.

I disagree with my result, my dot is way too far to the right
Two graphs labeled "Crazy Axis" (vertical, on the left) and "Hot Axis" horizontal, on the bottom. Both are scales from 1-10. On both graphs are colored areas: red (0-5 hot, 0-10 crazy) is the "no-go zone", lavender (roughly 0-1.5 crazy and 8-10 hot) is "unicorn", green (8-10 hot, 1.5-5 crazy) is "marriage". There's a diagonal line between regions from 5,5 to 10,10: an orange triangle at the top, toward the center, is "crazy zone"; a purple quadrilateral from 0-5 crazy on the left side, 0-7 crazy on the right side, and 5-8 hot is "fun zone", and a smaller blue quadrilateral from 5-8 crazy on the left side, 5-10 crazy on the right side, and 8-10 hot is the "date zone". The top graph has no labels but is overlaid with a grid. There's a black dot at about 7.5 crazy, 5.5 hot, near the lower left corner of the "crazy zone".

Post a non-religious picture you think of as holy ...actually I'm not sure if this counts as religious
"Reply of the Zaporozhian Cossacks", by Ilya Repin. From Wikipedia:

Reply of the Zaporozhian Cossacks depicts a supposedly historical tableau, set in 1676, and based on the legend of Cossacks sending an insulting reply to an ultimatum from the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, Mehmed IV. According to the story, the Zaporozhian Cossacks (from "beyond the rapids", Ukrainian: za porohamy), inhabiting the lands around the lower Dnieper River in Ukraine, had defeated Ottoman Empire forces in battle. However, despite his army having suffered this loss to them, Mehmed demanded that the Cossacks submit to Ottoman rule. The Cossacks, led by Ivan Sirko, replied in a characteristic manner: they wrote a letter, replete with insults and profanities. The painting exhibits the Cossacks' pleasure at striving to come up with ever more base vulgarities.

Panel 1: A woman with medium-length brown hair in a red blouse looks at her phone and says "My GAWD these Trump people are racist. An angry man in a blue button-up shirt with the sleeves rolled up and a red MAGA hat leans in and says "That attitude is what's pushing me to be racist!"

Panel 2: The woman looks at the man and says "Say what?" The man gestures to her with both hands and says "Might as well! You say I'm a Nazi so, fine, I'll be a Nazi if that makes you happy."

Panel 3: The woman looks dubious. "It... doesn't." The man is holding up a German military uniform coat. "I bought this Waffen SS uniform for Halloween. You'll cry 'offensive' so maybe I'll just wear it every day."

Panel 4: The man is shaving his own head with an electric razor while a tattoo artist tattoos a swastika on his upper arm. "I just hate to do this. I feel bullied, really."

I return often to Bertrand Russell's "In Praise of Idleness". harpers.org/archive/1932...
The idea that the poor should have leisure has always been shocking to the rich. In England in the early nineteenth century fifteen hours was the ordinary day’s work for a man; children sometimes did as much, and very commonly did twelve hours a day. When meddlesome busy-bodies suggested that perhaps these hours were rather long, they were told that work kept adults from drink and children from mischief. When I was a child, shortly after urban working men had acquired the vote, certain public holidays were established by law, to the great indignation of the upper classes. I remember hearing an old Duchess say, “What do the poor want with holidays? they ought to work.” People nowadays are less frank, but the sentiment persists, and is the source of much economic confusion.
