I've put my Kindle back in jail. 🙃 Forge doesn't work with the break I used, I couldn't read my books with KOReader, and the store/syncing just broke and nobody seemed to know why. Also the tech support Discord is the opposite of beginner friendly so it wasn't worth the hassle. Ah, well.

Hysterectomy complete! I wanted so badly to have my husband record a "Will you come to my cottage this summer?" video of me while I was in the recovery room but they just brought me out to him once I was awake. Alas.

A selfie taken in a wheelchair while I was incredibly groggy post-surgery. My eyes are closed and my right hand is doing a peace sign because even while my brain is barely functioning, that is my instinct as a millennial. I've changed into a blue tie-dye nightgown and have a white hospital blanket around my shoulders because I was shivering from the anesthesia.

A white Billy bookcase from IKEA with a colorful assortment of books and little decorations. The feet of some plushies are visible above the top shelf, which houses contemporary romance and dark(ish) romance. The second shelf is full of hockey romance and has decorations themed around real and fictional hockey stuff. The third and fourth shelves have romantasy along with some thematic plushies (an otter in a high-vis vest, two dragons, a bat, and Kingsley the sign-wielding frog). Shelf five has paranormal romance and some that aren't quite fantasy/paranormal but sort of fit the category anyway. The bottom shelf has YA paranormal/romantasy books and also an old paperback of Game of Thrones.

A second white Billy bookcase, to the right of the first one. The top two shelves have different iterations of Nancy Drew books, including two in Norwegian, which I do not speak. Shelf three has lots of Mary Higgins Clark mysteries and some miscellaneous things. The fourth has books from my aunt Janette, her son James, a guy named Parker I knew in college, and then a bunch of historical romances involving Scotland, including the Outlander series. Shelf five has a Vancouver Storm PR box and some bookmarks, stickers, and art related to the series as well as some special editions, a physical ARC, and my accidental second copy of Heated Rivalry. The bottom shelf has miscellaneous books (some of which are my husband's) and some non-romance YA.

Having surgery soon and I've got a checklist of things to do in preparation, like clean the shower, move my pajamas from the bottom drawer to a non-bending height, and make a list of which of my books are signed/special editions in case I die and my husband wants to sell them. Very normal.

AI customer service chatbots are such a mess. I'm sure they can be useful for simple situations and might save the customer service people some time but I feel like they mostly just waste the customer's time by repeatedly failing to solve the problem or understand what you need. 🫠

Cannot fucking believe an external 4TB SSD drive that cost me $200 last year is now $1100. Had to check receipts to make sure.
