The reaction to the Golden Axe series trailer shows me that we are ready for a return to sincerity in media. But I want to know how we got here.... Cause a decade ago, you would be crucified for NOT being meta and cynical. I wanted sincerity back then but it was frowned upon.

It's great and surprising to see a Golden Axe show! However, it feels kinda sad that it's a comedy. I feel like audiences are kinda over the meta sarcastic stuff. People are ready to be sincere again.

There are actually many ways STT 16-bit wasn't 100% "Genesis accurate," if you did not know. I think a good analogy is Shovel Knight: It's not an actual NES game, it intentionally breaks NES limitations several times, but it still FEELS like a NES game at some gut level

Cool to finally see what they are doing with Bubsy.😊 I had to chance to pitch a Bubsy game to Atari a few years ago. We wanted to do a hi-res pixel art game, basically Bubsy's Sonic Mania. Did not expect a 3D platformer! Very cool, will check it out.

When GameMaker adds new features, it would be wise to consult game designers and creative-first developers. Only asking engineers for new code features alone will just recreate some other OOP language inside of GML, instead of letting GML be what GML is.

Ghost of Yōtei looks great but I'm conflicted about it being just a vengeance story. The previous game was wonderful tale of challenging the traditions of honor in order to rebirth the spirit of honor.... so... feels like a downgrade.
