@smith.senate.gov: "They try to pretend that this violence, in this case in Minnesota, was actually driven by left wing ideology, when that is clearly not what is going on here... Let's be honest, here we have Donald Trump, one of the first actions that he took was to pardon the insurrectionists."

My instinct is to make the case that USAID is extremely good, actually. But I feel like it’s more important to say, “What is happening is antagonistic to the foundational document of the nation.”

Pritzker: "President Trump ought to be calling that out. If he doesn't agree with Elon Musk, if he doesn't agree with two Sieg Heils at his own rally and backing a party that backs Nazis, then he ought to say so. Why isn't Donald Trump speaking out?

Old enough to remember the campaign, when during each speech Trump said Jimmy Carter was happy (despite being in hospice care) because thanks to Biden he was no longer the worst US president. Saying he's paying "respects" is a stretch.

Trump interfered with the CR, causing a potential government shutdown. Now he’s trying to blame Biden. #TrumpShutdown

Oligarchy is not just a Russian phenomenon. It exists right here in the USA. In 2024, just 150 billionaire families spent nearly $2 billion to purchase candidates. We must stand together to save democracy.

Kim: You have a number of nominees who are literally, their mission is to dismantle the organization that they are being nominated to be in charge of. I find that to be so dangerous at this moment.

People not elected to government should not have the power to reshape the government, especially people whose obscene wealth depends on the government functioning a certain way. This is not a hot take. It's just plain common sense.

More than 750 white supremacist incidents have taken place since 2020 in the U.S., the Anti-Defamation League said, with over half of them occurring in the last 18 months. For years, critics have said Donald Trump’s language has encouraged and emboldened far-right organizations. nyti.ms/3V2xU9R
