I am also trying to take the idea of "this is a marketplace for creators who want to sell their likeliness to an LLM" seriously but it's so d*mn hard to take this at face value when you are stealing someone's work and identity.

Yes! With LLM assisted copywriting -- it's only gonna magnify and intensify.

Bonus: When he's discussing how this was the decision of a small team (1 PM + a couple of engineers), I do appreciate how he provides cover for the team but also... woof. This is why "growth product" as the default product skillset can lead to pretty atrocious decisions

... and this is something I encounter over and over b/c so many folks in tech view publishing articles, videos, podcasts as basically earned media (heck that's how they even see most publications) and to say it simply and loudly: WHAT A SAD WAY TO VIEW THE WORLD!

Catching up on @reckless.bsky.social's interview with Shishir and fwiw as someone who builds products, I find Shishir's blogging about craft to be super useful (e.g. how to ask questions, run meetings, etc). But during this interview he equates his free blogging (PR) with actual journalism...

Kimmel came across as so tired and tight whereas Conan is just energetic and loose. Both can take shots at this absurd moment we find ourselves in but Conan actually lands the plane. Had the same reaction.

Good thread and I'm with Erik that the NBA's tanking problem is a symptom of a much larger challenge with the league. I'll over simplify things but shorten the d*mn season. Fewer games will help reinvigorate the entire league and help the NBA make more money in the long haul.

Watching how some prompts an LLM is a mirror to their soul Are they trying to explore an idea and go wide to see potentialities? Are they sitting over someone’s shoulder demanding small tweaks?

The more cynical but probably honest take at this point - the more people lack trust in media, the angrier people are - the more $$$ Meta stands to earn in the long run

🌰 Noah Chestnut @noahchestnut.bsky.social · 20/01/2026

Related: see the flood of Meta alums working at OpenAI to turn ChatGPT into an addictive product It’s one where a lot of smart people tbh are too scared to push back because they are internally addicted to hitting arbitrary numbers to gain more stock that hinges on other arbitrary numbers going up

My baseline would be to have a dedicated feed within the app that allowed for all the things we do on apps like this one! My dream is that it would all be federated and ESPN syndicated verified non-ESPN journalists. ESPN should be a platform + increasing audience for us all.

Back to my bullsh*t While I quibble with the copy and frequency behind some of these noties… … ESPN’s “ditch Twitter and follow our news breakers in the app” works as advertised and is a good to great feature. I wish they kept iterating weekly to make it a cornerstone of their app.
