Drawing hair is basically a reward for all the effort I put into the face. I was supposed to be practicing hair rendering, but the face actually took 3 times longer to draw. It literally just turned into face practice! 😭

To be honest, even though hair always looks like one of the most complex and detail-heavy elements in anime avatars, faces are twice as hard to draw for me. It’s super common to redraw a face 3 or 4 times. 🥲

It seems that because most characters have clothes and accessories around their neck area, the default model's neck might be deliberately made rather long and straight??? So when I saw her neck at first glance, I felt there's something off, like her model was built in a different style 😅

Looking at the map, I don't really agree with “easily accessible to trade routes and commerce and travel”. The straits on both sides are actually much narrower than the bridges. Also, being landlocked between two continents makes it harder to reach outside trade, not easier.

Can we stop always pinning things on the most obvious yet also most superficial explanation? The simplest example is superhero movies: no matter how much they expand racial diversity (compared to when most leads were white), in the end, boring is boring, and it has nothing to do with DEI.

I keep seeing English-speaking users say Disney movies are boring because all the characters look the same. God, please stop saying that. I don't think Western audiences who watch anime or play JRPGs get bored by an entire work just because the characters share a similar art style.

Pretty much 90% of what I'm still looking forward to is the art by Kurahana Chinatsu, though I think she only handled the designs for a few main characters, just like she did in Three Hopes.

Honestly, after playing some earlier Fire Emblem titles and Dynasty Warriors, I've come to realize that what I actually enjoy is just the storytelling by Koei Tecmo, not Fire Emblem. And with Fortune's Weave, it's already been confirmed that Koei won't be involved.

Returned from visiting family only to find my stylus dead. 😭 Temporarily drawing with an older pen that has lower pressure sensitivity. The rotation sensitivity on it is acting up as well, but it ends up producing an unexpected natural ink look 🤣 And btw, Annette is always a pleasure to draw🧡
