#ShowMeYourKnits Halloween edition: currently I’m on an art yarn scrunchie making kick and on my needles is this halloween themed one. So far I’ve finished one and another has been blocked ready to sew up. I have so many colour combos I want to try! 🧶 #Knitting

More Sustainability for #ShowMeYourKnits is unravelling these old fast fashion jumpers. These weren’t suitable for donating so they’re now yarn ready to be made into something else.

Two old jumpers to be unraveled, one grey chenille and silver glitter which was stained, the other fuzzy black and white with hp pattern that needed to be destroyed rather than risk it being worn be anyone else.

Sustainability for #ShowMeYourKnits, well this is crochet. But it is made from leftover yarn from my stash, other people’s stashes and the thrift store. Modular makes like this are great for stash busting 👍 🧶 #Crochet

Over the past few days of #TourDeFleece26 I’ve been spinning this gorgeous BFL/Silk hand dyed braid. This blend is my favourite, the sheen, the softness, it spins like butter. Braid is from Pigment & Ply, one of my favourite UK yarn dyers. 🧶 #HandSpinning

Day one of #TourDeFleece26 ends with a good amount of ramie on the bobbin. There’s been some frustration but it’s definitely easier on the wheel than on a drop spindle. However it is a slow spin so we’ll see how much I do of this before I get tired of it!

Spun a little sample of ramie in preparation for #TourDeFleece. I’ve never spun a fibre like this before. Lessons learnt: • it is a PITA to spin on a drop spindle, hopefully it’ll be better on the wheel • a distaff might help keep the fibre lined up nicely (cont. 🧵)

Yesterday’s random #MeMadeMay item is the Wizard Blanket Jumper! This is made from 10 giant granny squares sewn into 2 strips and then sewn along the top and bottom to make it jumper shaped. I love it but the sleeves are… quite impractical. Worn 30 times 🧶 #Crochet

Today’s random #MeMadeMay item is this windowpane v-cowl! This was the first v-cowl I wove, and I wear it all the time. It’s just the perfect accessory? If ever a dress is too boring, add a v-cowl, that’s my advice. Worn 121(!) times 🧶 #Weaving

Today’s random #MeMadeMay item are the Camp Out Mitts and matching cowl! I wanted a simple mitt pattern to show off this Noro yarn, then I designed the cowl to match. I knit these last October and they’ve been firm favourites since. Cowl worn 14 times, mitts worn 70! 🧶 #Knitting #ShowMeYourKnits

1/ Today’s random #MeMadeMay item are these grey linen wrap trousers. I had to go dig these out of the repair pile (and give them a judicious ironing) where they’ve been languishing for a year because I wanted to add panels to the sides to increase the overlap but actually I think they’re ok now?

I actually have a finished object for this #FOfriday, this skein of yarn that I spun on my cross arm spindle and plyed on my wheel. That batt made quite a big skein of 3ply DK! 🧶 #HandSpinning

A bit late for #ShowMeYourKnits green week but I just finished the body of my Roly Poly Pillbug and I have to share it because, well, Look At It! Every time I pick it up it makes me smile. Now on to the legs! 🧶 #Knitting

The body of a foot-long knitted pill bug on a completed jigsaw. The pillbug (wood louse) is knit with a yarn that is a gradient between greens and dark blue so the back of the bug has a gradient from light green to dark blue to blue green, the head is blue green and the belly is blue. Haul photo! Today I went to the East Anglia Yarn Festival and obviously I couldn’t go without coming back with something! To be fair, the yarn is my husbands. I stuck to my goal of only buying fibre and a spindle if I saw a good one. I’ll put the deets in the alt text.

For #ShowMeYourKnits: Greens! I knit these challenge socks last year; a very interesting construction, toe up with a sidewards knitted band that winds around the foot and leg before exiting the cuff. The variegated yarn I dyed myself based on the colours of lavender 🧶 #Knitting
