Rhinowalk 20L panniers: the plastic backplate broke. Maybe from too much weight, potholes & speed. And 10 years of commutes. I'm trying to decide if I should drill out the 9 rivets, replace plastic board with a $3 cutting board, and re-rivet . #bikeTooter

My #Android (grapheneOS) phone has mostly apps from F-Droid, but a few from Play Store (Aurora). I'd like to remove any Play Store apps that I don't need. Is there a way to "show me apps I installed from Play Store"? If I open Aurora and check My Apps, it lists most of my F-Droid apps too.

Hrm, the batteries recharged with no trouble. LiOn batteries have moods and personalities! The charger peaked at 509 watts, charging two "280wh" batteries (52v 5ah), and tapered after 55 minutes. On one hand, that's great! I could really use a 1-hour charge on ebike trips: Ride 80 miles, and […]

35 minutes later, both batteries run-down (500 watt hours), and they did 3 passes down a long city block, with about 10cm of powder. (If anybody is wondering how much the Ego needs.. about 1kWh/hour) Both are too hot to charge now (understandable) We got about 7mm of snow in those 35 minutes […]

My Ego snowblower has 2 batteries. One pauses 3-4 times during charge, and the charger displays a red "thermometer" icon for 1-2 minutes, then charging resumes. It still charges, but.. is this concerning? I think the 3 year warranty is almost up.

Every now and then we need to replenish large items: packs of drinks, flour, detergent, etc., we fill a large cart in a grocery store, and then haul everything back via carshare. Yesterday was that day, and I told her “I bet I can carry everything by bike”. Voila! #BikeTooter

@ObbieZ Exactly. Lumping HEV and ICE as one category is like saying "this new product costs roughly the same as a 10kg or 15kg bag of rice". Well... which is it? I think the point of the study is to counter auto industry lobbyists who are claiming unrealistic carbon savings. But the message is […]

At the #TwinCitiesBicycleTour , I rode for a while behind a parent with two kids in a longtail... they were playing "Takedown" on a bluetooth speaker, which I was enjoying so much that I followed them right off the Tour route, and had to backtrack (I guess the kids needed a playground break!)

We have an example in our family: my partner joined an ensemble that rehearses outside the 494/694 beltway... 7 miles from the nearest place to catch a bus into town after 6pm. They would not have chosen that ensemble if they weren't driving... and loss of availability of the car (such as our […]
