A rural town with a population of less than 2,000. Agriculture there has been hit hard with the economy. It’s the MO of ICE to set up detention centers in these type of communities. We have three similar communities with “detention centers” in New Mexico that fit the same descriptor.

Similar experience when I was a principal. When dismissed from lunch, group of 5th boys started taking a shortcut through a hallway to the playground. Once I stationed myself around the corner, the reaction was the same as the sheep. It was comical and the boys thought so as well.

Both my cat and dog were totally fine with my chicks when I brought them home 1 1/2 years ago. They both still get along with them now that they are full grown hens. Also, I recognize this is most likely AI.

I’ve sworn off pets for decades and then a stray or castaway shows up and forces my broken heart to expand a bit more to love “just one more.” My husband and I have decided to foster once our cat and dog are gone. However, I’m also familiar with the term “foster failure…”
