A few of you know that my guilty reality TV pleasure is "Dancing with the Stars," and the casting news for this season (Amber Glenn! Julia Stiles! Tatyana Ali!) has my silly Dragon Age Zevran x Tabris DWTS AU bouncing around in my head again... #wipwhenever

Image text reads: Naia blinked as she read their brief for the week. "Wait a minute. I know this song. They're going to play this on network TV? I thought this was a family show."

"I cannot imagine what you might be alluding to, my dear partner." Zevran laid a hand over his heart in mock confusion. "This song is simply about puckering up for a kiss, no? You must have quite a dirty mind to see anything inappropriate in its lyrics." He waggled his eyebrows at her as he whistled the song's jaunty chorus, mischief dancing in his eyes.

Naia burst into giggles. "Right. Nothing suggestive about the phrase 'blow my whistle.' My mistake."

"Oi!" Sera snapped, adjusting something on the camera. "Am I gonna get any usable footage this week? You know, without dirty jokes or obvious eye-fucking?"

"Hmmmm. An unusual request, but we shall do our best to honor it." Zevran winked at the camerawoman. Sera gave him a look that would have killed a lesser man on the spot.

Naia stifled a laugh. "Besides, Bellara says the fans like the eye-fucking."

Sera snorted. "Come offit. Bellara Lutare did not say 'eye-fucking.'"

"Well, no. She called it 'flirty staring,'" Naia admitted. "But I assume it's the same thing."

Today I’m cancelling all my plans to stare at this amazing render from @wildmagickatie.bsky.social. I asked for a skeb of Alys and Gale in a modern AU and specifically asked for glasses for Gale because I’m so normal about that 😆 Katie knocked this out of the park, they look so good!!

A 3D render showing Gale and a custom half-Drow femme character in modern clothing. Alys, a draconic sorcerer with copper scales on her face, wears a teal dress with spaghetti straps; Gale wears a purple shirt with the sleeves slightly rolled up. Gale is holding Alys’s hand and they are looking at each other affectionately. Gale wears glasses. That’s very important. Render by WildMagicKatie.

Summary: Six years ago, Lucanis and Enlee spent a night together in Treviso.

Neither one of them expected this sort of reunion.

With gods to fight, family to avenge, and a demon to contend with, it seems best for their past to stay a pleasant memory. They can ignore the spark between them if it means saving the world and protecting each other.

But leaving things unsaid might be more dangerous than facing the truth.

32. Charity Case (a Dragon Age modern AU longfic) is still my baby honestly. 33. I really liked this exchange between Naia and Zevran!

She was halfway up the staircase when she heard him clear his throat. “Should you change your mind, my offer of help stands.”

She paused and turned her head, looking at him out of the corner of her eye. “Not that I don’t appreciate it, but … why?”

“It seems like a good thing to do. And I am not sure I have ever done one of those before.” He smiled, but there was an odd edge to it, as if the joke pained him. As if it weren’t really a joke. “Who knows? Perhaps I would enjoy the change of pace.”

4. Do I save cut scenes? Oh heck yes, all the time. I usually copy-paste them to the end of my doc in case I change my mind! Here's a bit I cut from my Dragon Age longfic, in which my Inquisitor and Rook discuss Solas. I liked it but it doesn't really fit anywhere so far.

“He and I bonded over our magic. I was curious about what he knew and I think he respected that.” Cecily paused thoughtfully, reaching back in time for memories. “He liked it when people asked questions. I would have said we were good friends once.” She shook her head. “And maybe I’m naive, but I still would. He saved my life when the mark would have ended it.”
She looked at Enlee seriously. “He does care, Rook. For this world and the people in it. But caring won’t stop him from doing what he thinks is necessary. What you need to understand about Solas is that he believes his course of action is right and that he must take it no matter what the cost.” She sighed. “In a strange way, I think he sees his guilt about what he’s planning to destroy as evidence that he’s doing the right thing. He’s good at that kind of tortured logic.”

Enlee felt her mouth twitch. “He asked me what people would say about me once this was all over. I told him I didn’t care as long as they were still around to say something. Unfortunately he seemed to like that. He said he was glad I understood not caring about your reputation if it meant protecting the world.”
Cecily shook her head and groaned softly. “That is very Solas, I’m afraid. When you have that kind of conversation with him, he hears most of what you say as confirmation that he’s right.”

I HC that Lia starts the game as truly Level 1, with a handful of cantrips and not much else. Gale, her mentor, begins to help her unlock her talents, and here she is practicing a new spell with her bardic flair! #nlansOCs Thank you so much for these amazing shots @alstrodurge.bsky.social! 🫶

Virtual photography from Baldur's Gate 3 by alstrodurge.bsky.social. It depicts a hornless tiefling in leather armor getting ready to cast a spell. Her expression is focused and determined, but happy. The shot is taken with a wide lens and we see the crumbling monastery where she is practicing in the background.
