In the late Qing, the imperial Aisin Gioro family codified a practice where all children of the same generation would receive the same first Chinese character, which makes the names look very repetitive. Zaifeng (Puyi's father)'s generation was 載, while Puyi's generation was 溥 (Puyi, Pujie)
