Fault
by Nishu

Will this little sunflower die?
But if it does, you wonder why?

Remember all those many times
You pushed it to the shadow side
With no regard
Not one regret
You didn't see the petals sag

When it was ready
You really thought it were
You plucked it from the soiling earth
You weren't gentle
Not one bit
Did it deserve all of this?

It's wilting away
This light among flowers
Maybe it would do better among the others?
You push it down
Unaware of the thorns
These pricking strangers make it bow a bit more

It's over, you think
The little sunflower’s dead
Yet before you throw it into the trash
You hold it gently
The first time you do
And you wonder
Did it die because of you?

This little flower gave it's seed
So you could start anew
Maybe you've learned a thing or two?
When you see it grow
When it's summer, real soon
Will it bloom and prosper
Or will you let it die too?

I wrote a poem tonight and felt like the person on the left 😗🔥 Though, to be honest, I feel like SpongeBob most of the time 😂🥲 Do you have an in-between of the two or are you just like me and it's either one or the other? 👀 #writingcommunity #amwriting #writesky #poem #poetry

Inspiration vs Result Why did this cute picture inspire me to write such an angsty poem? Well, who knows ╮(. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)╭ This adorable sketch of Birdy and Ryū was drawn by the always amazing @jcellworks.bsky.social ❤️ #writingcommunity #writesky #poem #angst #ocsky #commission #art

Rain rain rain
Will you wash it all away?

The warmth right where our hands are joined
A smile which holds such open joy

The taste of sweetness on my lips
A longing I can not dismiss

The twinkle in your depthless eyes
A love I know we both deny

Undeserving I may be
Yet selfishly I'm asking thee

Rain, o’ relentless rain
Please, don't wash it all away

Another one of those restless nights... Wholesome short comic commission of Sen and Birdy by the fantastic @mysimpleme14 on insta ☺️💕 Included the script I wrote for this scene in the ALT text description too, if you're interested 👀 #oc #ocsky #manga #romance #art #commission #writingcommunity

Sen can’t seem to find any sleep, but doesn't want to disturb Birdy with his constant tossing and turning, so he leaves the bedroom quietly. Since she’s a light sleeper, his leaving hadn’t gone unnoticed by her and, after waiting for half an hour, Birdy decides to check on him. Eventually, she finds Sen in the living room, sitting on the sofa in the dark and rubbing his eyes with the palms of his hands. Birdy plops down beside him in silence.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you,” he mumbles meekly.

“Nevermind.”

Gently, she places a hand on his thigh, prompting him to turn and look at her. Sen appears very tired, so Birdy pulls him into her arms, with his head resting on her shoulder as she caresses his back and massages his scalp soothingly.

Sen closes his eyes and nestles against her some more, her scent and the warmth of her skin providing much needed comfort. Occasionally, it was hard for him to tell exactly what kept him awake, sometimes his mind was simply too busy, jumping from one thought to the next in an instant, so it was a blessing that Birdy didn’t need him to explain anything, didn’t expect him to.

“Want to go back to bed?”

At her question he shakes his head lazily.

“I can carry you if you’re too tired.”

Sen chuckles quietly and heaves his head up, beholding Birdy’s nondescript expression in the dark. It never ceased to amuse him, the way she could say such things as if it were the most normal thing in the world. He lovingly cupps her face in his hands.

“I’m feeling better already, so no need to carry me...this time,” he winks and Birdy responds with a simple nod. “Still don’t feel like sleeping though, any suggestions on what we could do?”

Sen leans his face a little closer to hers suggestively.

“There’s still some pie left from earlier, if you feel like eating…?”

Their foreheads collide softly, as Sen hums and smiles.

“Sure, that would be sweet too.”

panic is a real thing, moreso now that there's only less than 50 days until xmas 2024! so without further ado, here's the calendar of prompts for #24adventthings! I'll post everything in this thread, of course, but here is also a link for more accessibility! pdflink.to/24adventthin...

A calendar in table format for the 24 Things Of Advent. The background is cream and the table cells are all differently-colored between blue, cream, white and red. The dates are in green and the text is in red. There are faded cliparts of Christmassy stuff in each cell. At the top is written “24 Things Of Advent” in red and green all-caps text, in-between yellow sparkles. At the bottom is written #24adventthings in red.
